Samuel Rodney Copelan

OBITUARY

GREENSBORO HERALD AND JOURNAL, 3 NOV. 1911:

DEATH OF YOUNG SAM COPELAN

Mr. Samuel Copelan, the 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roe W. Copelan,
passed away Thursday morning, at eleven o'clock, after (an) attack of tyyhoid
fever.
Young Copelan did not contract the fever in Greensboro, but came (?) ill
several weeks ago.
He was a splendid speciman (of) young manhood, and little did (his)
relatives and friends think that (he) would so soon be cold in death.
He was the youngest son and (the) hope and joy of fond parents.
But they are almost heart(broken) today as they cried bitter tears (?) the
(?) of their boy.  We sympathize with them in their hour of sorrow, but only
the Great Physician (can bring?) solace to hearts bowed with such (af)fliction.

Right margin was missing and parentheses indicate assumed or unreadable words.
