After the destruction of Heenan, Hogan joined up with Savage to form the Mega Powers. At summerslam they took on Andre the Giant and Ted DiBiase. The team lost when Elizabeth (Savage's Woman) dropped her skirt and distracted the team. So Savage became jealous of Hogan when he covered her up and carried her to the back. At the Royal Rumble in 1989 Hogan eliminated Bad News Brown, who also held onto Savage. After Savage was eliminated he said that Hogan had full intentions of eliminating him. The following weekend Savage was involved in a match with Hogan as his teammate and he was hurled out of the ring and hit Elizabeth.He hit her and did not even wait to see if she was alright. Hogan immediatley went and picked Elizabeth up and carried her to the back. This lead to there fight at Wrestlemania V, where they would show down and Elizabeth would be the special guest referee. And Hogan won the match and Elizabeth stayed as Hogan's manager till Summerslam.
Earlier in the year Hogan was involved in a movie called "Now Holds Barred". Hogan played the role of protrayed the role of "Rip" which is a wrestler. Who went up against a wrestler named "Zeus". Zeus came to the WWF and claimed that he would destroy Hogan but Hogan beat him. And Hogan was on a role and took down one heel at a time beating everyone in the WWF.
But there was one man that Hogan hadnt faced the Ultimate Warrior. The Ultimate Warrior at the time was the Intercontinental Champion at the time.The Two squared off at Wrestlemania VI, April 1,1990.But it was the Ultimate Warrior that came out with the win. In a hard delivered match by both of them.
Shortly after hogan was attacked by the 300+ monster names Earthquake. Earthquake then wrested Hogan at SummerSlam when Dino Bravo which was Earthquakes hench man came out and interfered in the match. The Big Boss Man then camed down to even out the score which allowed Hogan to win the match. In January 19,1991, Hogan was set-up to go against Sgt. Slaughter who shot Hogan with a fireball to win the match. Their match-up at Wrestlemania VII was unforgettable when Hogan won the match and regained the title for his third time.
But there was also a attack by the sadistic heels at the time the Undertaker, who attacked Hogan at a time called the "Funeral Parlour". Their match took place at Survivor Series in 1991. When Ric Flair interfered and costed Hogan the match with a steel chair in hand. The WWF and Hogan were neither satisfied with the result so in 6 days they had a rematch and Flair came down to interfere again and his plan backfired. When Hogan rammed his head in the chair and rolled him up for the win and to win his WWF Heavyweight Title.
Hogan then took 10 months off from the Wrestling buisness and played some roles in movies. And made his return when Ted BiDiase and IRS were beating the living snot out of his best friend Brutus Beefcake.Later that day Bret Hart lost the title to Yokozuna when Mr.Fuji threw salt into Bret's eyes.Hogan came down to protest when Mr.Fuji told Hogan to get into the ring and challenge him.Which Hogan did, and Mr.Fuji plan with the salt backfired and Hogan rolled him up in less then 23 seconds to win his fifth title. Hogan only had one title defence against Yokozuna at King of the Ring in June 13,1993. That is when a photographer came up to the ring and blasted Hogan with a fireball and then pinned and Hogan never returned to ring and nor was expected to come back to the ring. But he made his comeback on Feburary 17.2002 at No Way Out. |
