Stats and other stuff:

*name: Raven Shadowwinds - yeah it's a pseudonym, so shoot me

*age: 40ish

*Race: Caucasian - Mother's side=Celtic and Norse with a smattering of Norman (which really isn't anything different from Norse, but it gives some different types of last names) Father's side=Germanic with 1/16th Cherokee. That makes me a whopping 1/32nd and doesn't affect our last name or family culture.

*Location: Uh, here. Oh, you mean IRL? South Carolina. Near the capital in a very rural place... Sorry, you won't get any more info than that without the proper security clearance...

*Email: [email protected] is just fine. I welcome email, but if you spam me regularly and I will make your world view change. It's very simple.

Religion: Christian. Closest to Presbyterian/Reformed...I adhere to a reformed form of systematic theology but I have a belief that house churches and small congregations are closer to the biblical model than are larger churches. I also have a very "celtic" styled personal worship. I am not a fundamentalist and do not adhere to rules and prohibitions not found in scripture. These would include prohibitions against secular music, movies or tatoos, requiring certain styles of clothing or hairstyles (over and above the christian norm of modesty)...and I do not take it kindly when others attempt to foist those types of rules on me or on other people.

*Marital Status: Divorced and Single. Again, while I welcome interaction, if you stalk me - I'm not the one who will be miserable. It's very simple.

*Kids: 2 Non-standard issue males, one pre teen and one in the throes of puberty. The preteen is an alternative-skater-gamer-nascar tatertot amalgamation, whereas the other is a gothic/metalhead/punk-fantasy/scifi-gamer/geek/techie hybrid. Other than not doing their homework and sometimes skipping chores, they are good kids so I guess I'll keep them.

*Dating Preferences: I'm heterosexual and monogamous. I don't do porn and don't date anyone (knowingly) who does. I prefer to start out slow and build a friendship, but if I know right from the get go that we are not compatible that is all it will ever be. I also am not sexually active outside of marriage. I'm picky and not in a hurry to hook up again anyway. I also will not promise you marriage after 2 weeks of chatting with you...heck I can't even say we are an item at that point. *IF* you think you are interested in dating Lady Raven...please make sure to read everything on this website before you make an attempt. It might save you alot of time and frustration.

*Current hair colour: It was Maroon, now it is deep burgandy (feria) and violet streaks on the weekends. It has been plenty of other colours. It probably will be again. I also had to cut it into one of those angled bobs since the perm damage from my last perm was so great, but it has begun to grow out. It is kinda cute though I can't wait until it is long again.

*Eyes: Brown with green flecks and a black ring

*Other Appearance description: Short (5'3"), Busty, carrying a few extra pounds (less and less of them every day though - yay!!), heart shaped face, chin length hair, freckles and a cool, fair complexion.

*Contents of Cosmetics Bag: Lotion, SPF 35 sunblock, "White Heat" and "Translucent Light" powders, Black, Aubergine and light plum pink eyeshadow, eye pencil (black and charchol - which I rarely use unless going clubbing), Black cherry lipstick (which I rarely use) and black mascara. Also have two large brushes for face and three small ones for eyes.

*Favourite Nail Colours: Black, Black Velvet (black with metalic finish), Black Tie Optional (really dark purple which looks black at a distance), Black Cherry

*Favourite Style of Dress: A cross between gypsy/stevie nicks and Victorian, Renn, or medieval or "gothic" period clothing. When I can't wear those I wear circle or broom straw black skirts and period, pirate, poet, gypsy or peasant blouses. I don't do industrial or anything with huge pants and/or shredded shirts. I also don't do tailored business dress or anything which could be construed as being preppy. Blech.

*Current Favourite Song: "Nemo" by Nightwish, "Master of the Wind" by Man O War, "Steal that Car" "Prayer" and "Brutal Planet" by Alice Cooper, "Unforgiven" and "Unforgiven2" by Metallica, Anything by Love Spirals Downwards, Enya, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, or possibly the entire Darklore Manor album from Nox Arcana. Depends on my mood.

Favourite Musical Style: Darkwave (includes ethereal, darkambient also), celtic, gregorian chant, punk and melodic metal.

*The Song which Means the Most to Me: "No More my God" by Isaac Watts..."Heart of Steel" by Man O War runs a close second and "Prayer" by Alice Cooper comes in just behind.

*The Favourite Book: Not one...I like Lord of the Rings, Christine Feehan's Dark (Carpathian) series, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Everything You Know is Wrong by Russ Kick, Dr Phil's Secrets to a Phenomenal Family, And Claire Wolfe's "101 Things to do Until the Revolution" books one and two and anything about natural health and crafting.

*Favourite Colour: It's a very dusky greyish purple. The one you see at night if there is going to be or was a storm around sunset. Purples and maroons in general rock.

*Favourite Animal: Ravens...but Bats, Wolves and Shelties are 'da bomb' too.

*Favourite Sayings: "What we do in the present echos in eternity" (From Gladiator); "The cure for boredom is curiousity, there is no cure for curiousity" Ellen Parr "Perhaps the distant part of the sky always seems clearest so that we will always strive to reach it"(From Rurouni Kenshin Movie) "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you."

*Other Similar Fav Stuff: Butterflies, angels, faeries, gargoyles, dragons, roses, celtic knotwork, incense, velvet and silk, lace, chockers, crosses, sleeping, warm fuzzy blankets with cool ambient temperatures, my kids laughter and the smell of my home.

*Hobbies: Webpage design, drawing, poetry, writing, photography (black and white and landscape with a preoccupation with trees, sunsets, graveyards and old houses), cooking, crochet, sewing (for household use), crafts, playing Magic the Gathering, Table top role play (using a FUDGE and D20 conceptual mix of my own), collecting Butterflies, Ravens, bats, wolves and crosses, reading and reading and reading and more reading

*Seasonal Preferences: Fall, Winter, Spring, which are all good and then Summer which I really don't like much at all.

*Climate Preferences: I like 4 seasons, but I prefer the temps to be between 50 and 70 most of the time, occasionally below freezing is ok, I do like snow, I just don't want to be cold for more than a month or two. Once in a blue moon it can creep up to 80, but don't let it stay there for very long.

*Favourite food: Other than chocolate? Cheese (any but Brie and those kind) Salad with bleu cheese or REAL Ranch dressing, fruit, shellfish with hot butter to dip them in, trifle, Thai, Greek and Chinese Food.

*Favourite Drink: Coca Cola, Chai Latte, British style tea, Flavoured coffee, Mixed drinks with Amaretto in them and sweet, fruity red wine, asti or lambrusco.

*Favourite Scents: To wear - Rapture (Victoria Secret) Reminiscent (LolaGoth - Hot topic) and Vanilla, Musk or Lavender in any combination To Smell - Vanilla, Patoulli, Francincense and Myrrh, Dragons Blood and Sandalwood.

*Smoke?: Not really, though I used to...but not heavily. I have asthma and Momma died of Lung Cancer, I must be very careful. Besides, cigarettes royally stink.

*Favourite Times in History: Gothic, Medieval, Renn, Victorian. I also like to study WW2 and the War of Northern Aggression, though I don't dress or want to relive those periods.

*Favourite Piece of Clothing: Black circle skirt. Goes anywhere with anything. Also have a black broom straw skirt which serves the same purpose.

Favourite TV Shows: Anything documenting my favourite periods of history, WW2 or the War of Northern Aggression, Point Pleasant, Dark Shadows (whenever they play the episodes I tape them), YuYu Hakosho, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshion (Samurai X), Full Metal Alchemist, Wolf's Rain, Teen Titans, Christopher Lowell, Tech TV's Fresh Gear and the Screen Savers, Monty Python, East Enders, Emeril Live and any home improvement show.

*Favourite Movies: Tears of the Sun, Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Gladiator, the Crow series and the 13th Warrior

Other interesting Tidbits

*I have a very dry (Monty Python) sense of humour and hate the purile humour of most adolescents and young men which seem to center around sex and drinking (ala animal house, america pie) and I'm not real big on ethnic humour either (ala soul plane). A good parody will make me very happy though.

* I like to write poetry and short stories and am working on several books simultaneously (which ensures none will get done any time soon).

*I don't like hot weather, beaches (other than romantic walks in sunsets), and most summertime activities (though I do like to swim if the lake is cool and shaded. I burn like a vampire in the sun....) due mostly to my aversion to temperatures above 80 degrees. I'm not being picky, I don't sweat adequately and break out in very painful rashes.

*I cried during Reagan's funeral broadcast and sniffled a bit that Strom Thurmond died.

*I went to school to study Early Childhood Education but I take children's school pictures for a living

*I used to drive a white chevy cavalier named "the deer hunter" (I killed bambi with it and it still ran). I drive a mazda 929 I got for a grand, it's name is Inuyasha. My next vehicle is probably going to be named Dumbledore.

*I want a mini van and a harley (though I'm not substantial enough for the heavy model I prefer).

*I am a gothic person with sympathies with the punk and emo scene too, but I don't participate much in the scene of any of them. Guess I'm getting too old or too broke. Maybe both.

*I was born in Oregon - can't remember it though.

*I'm not a good dancer and sing off key

*I don't care which fork or spoon is used for what and if presented with more than two of each I will just grab one and use it the whole meal.

*I prefer candle light to real light if not reading or writing.

*I use christmas lights sometimes as ambient light when it's not even winter. Currently the living and dining areas of my trailer are ringed in purple lights.

*I'm a tightwad and re-use the oddest things (like pickle juice)

*I like to walk and hike, I like to ride bikes and play games like volleyball and badmitton. However I do not run unless I'm running from someone bent on my destruction and will never climb fake stairs. Fitness is an expression of your inner being and if you come about your shape by artificial and prescribed means such as aerobics, stair climbing machines or lifting weights in a gym, to me that means you are either vain or a phoney. You could do the same things to your body by participating in social activities, doing fun things and having a life outside the gym. Besides gym culture sucks.

*Make over shows suck. Especially ones like "what not to wear" and "ambush makeover" I'm not real fond of the house makeover show like that either where you have no say in how your house or person should look. It's all a plot by the fashionistas and the PC nazi's who want us all to be the same. Argh.

*I also don't like people who tell you you have something wrong and then turn around and do it themselves. Like room mates who have messy rooms and then bitch at you for leaving your shoes in the living room. Gimme a break

*I met Ex President Jimmy Carter when I was in College

*I had a t-shirt that said "I almost saw Billy Ray Cyrus at "insert establishment name here"" once. Don't know what happened to it. I don't really wear t-shirts.

*I'm a constitutional libertarian

*I have asthma, hypothyroidism and overactive bladder.

*On that old personality type test I'm a melancholy phlegmatic....

*I have oily face and oily scalp but the rest of me is very dry.

*I never drink soda from a can

*I prefer the round tea bags or brewed tea when I can get it

*Current projects: Making curtains for my kids rooms and Crocheting afghans for my sons. Both want red and black. One wants purple borders, the other either white or yellow. I just made a black and maroon afghan which will eventually serve as a bedding item (over throw for cold nights) and am dying two broomstraw skirts I bought at the thrift store. They were originally hideous green and yellow and brown patterns. They will be black. Ugh, yellows are so hard to strip down.....

*Recent Movie Adventures: Batman Returns - The absolute best batman flick ever made. Better effects and story line far outdo the movies made 10 yrs ago. Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith - Very good, though I hope this is the Last one. Yu Yu Hakusho - Poltergeist Report (movie based on anime series)...not as impressed as I could be. The voiceovers were different and the characters were not true to form presented in weekly cartoon.
