CALL definition
When I heard about
CALL course, I just thought that it is a course that is more interesting course
than the other elective course. I only know that it is stands for Computer
Assisted Language Learning, the rest information about this course, I do not
know. I also know that by taking this course, I and students who take this
course will be taught how to make a website. Actually, I am interested in it,
so I just clicked it, and then I attend the class.
Next thing that I
know about this course was that this course is one of way of teaching.
Moreover, CALL is a method of teaching using computer technology to convey the
materials. In the beginning of the class, Mrs.Neny,
the teacher has explained the syllabus of this course. She said that we will
join Mailing List, and by the e-mails we had to pick two topics that related to
teaching and learning which are interesting for us. I had never done it before,
but, luckily, the teacher and friends were cooperating well, so it was done
easily.
An advantage from
joining the mailing list is that I know new opinions from people who join to
the lists about one of teaching and learning activity. Next thing that I was
wondering was what kind of website I will make. So, I can’t wait for it.
Mailing list
For the mailing list assignment, I
choose “Make Oral Presentation better” and “Scoring student”. I choose these
topics because in my opinion, in English Department, there are two things that
important in teaching and learning activities beside listen to the teacher, do
the exercise, etc.
For group project, my group had to
evaluate a particular web available in the internet. We had to decide whether
the website is appropriate for teaching and learning reading and writing or
not.
Website
I never thought that making a
website is so this hard, J But, I took advantage from
this project, I, at least once had made a website.
