A MISSISSIPPI WRITER

Velvet Sky, self-published in May 2002, was a further result of that self imposed period as Rusty abandoned college and life in general to try and put his life back together. Living in denial had finally caught up with him and he was forced to confront his past head on. His novel depicts life in a small southern town (Good Hope) as seen through the eyes of four children. Most of it could pass as an autobiography thinly disguised as fiction. The book would later be rewritten and released in March 2006 under the altered title Beneath the Velvet Skies. The 1980's were spent reading the great writers of the day such as Steven King, Eudora Welty, William Faulkner, Kahil Gibran, Robert Fulgum, Willie Morris and Jeffery Archer and exploring the burgeoning world of desktop computers. In 1984, Rusty decided to put down roots and set up house in Madison County on St. Augustine Road. 23 years later we can still find him there... minus the long hair, the brown locks now grayish white. In the late 90s Mr. Reeves completed Revealing the Covenant, a medical thriller dealing with embryonic stem cells. The book was published in October 2003.
