| I am an avid fan of anything werewolf related. I had the opportunity to read an excerpt of Moonwarriors by Rusty Nugent. I like the fact that it takes two of the most famous monster legends of werewolves and vampires and clashes them together. His wording is imaginative and descriptive and doesn't bore you in the slow moments of the story. You find yourself not wanting to stop reading because you want to find out what happens next. I would recommend any reader who is a werewolf or vampire enthusiast to check this story out! - Lone Wolf, Webmaster of the Werewolf TV Series website |
| By Tami Brady from The year is 799 AD. Europe is still fighting to free themselves from the clutches of the ever-expanding Roman Empire. Unbeknownst to most, another battle is also about to take place. This is the battle of Walter Volknor versus Avatar. Walter Volknor was a young man living with his parents, Desmond and Vondoron, and two younger brothers, Corvax and Shakara, on a farm in Dacia. The Volknor family was a fairly ordinary family except for one thing, Desmond and Vondoron were werewolves. As eldest born son, Walter had also inherited the lycanthropy curse. Despite this fact, apart from a secret family outing once every twenty-eight days, Walter's childhood was rather ordinary. Until one night, when an event took place that would change Walter's world completely. On that fateful night, a Vampire named Avatar and his underling Nestafil attacked the Volknor farm bent on revenge. Avatar and Desmond had been friends at one time. Together, they had dedicated themselves to spreading chaos and evil to the world. The friendship had ended abruptly when Desmond had fallen in love and stolen Vondoron from Avatar just before Vondoron and Avatar were to be married. Desmond vowed to right the wrongs he had done in his life. Avatar vowed to destroy Desmond and his family. On this night, Avatar fulfilled his promise. Avatar and Nestafil killed Desmond, Vondoron, Corvax, and Shakara. Walter alone survived as the morning sunlight chased the vampires back into hiding. Broken and beaten, Walter vowed to become a champion of the people and to someday destroy Avatar and all evil in the world. Moonwarriors is Walter's story. Moonwarriors is an active story filled with adventure, heroic battles, friendship, and love. The story line is solid with just the right amount of twists and turns to keep the reader enthralled. The characters are strong and extremely well developed. This is probably the best book I've read in a really long time. |
