A teddy bear tale
My mum passed away 2 years ago. My friend and I went to register her death, then on to the shops to buy some groceries. Well as you know, at times like these, there,s a need for coffee and tea and such things. Anyway wewent into a local supermarket, I had this sudden urge to go to the toy department. My friend thought I was nuts. I shared her thoughts , as I couldn,t quit figure out why I was in the toy aisle. Then I spotted them. Three small teddy bears. In various shades of brown, each with a different coloured bow tie, and a beautiful smile. I brought the teddies and my friend and I drove home. As I went into my house, I was met by my nephew who was aged 3. He smiled and with lots of enthusiasm and excitment in his voice he said "Quess what? Nana,s gone to God,s house! Isn,t that great? She is ging to be soooo happy there!"
Over the previous few months, he had seen his Nana ill and in bed lots of times, and on the weekend she passed, he was staying at his Grans. The adults amongst us, were vexed at the way that we would have to break the news to him, that his Nana had passed. He grasped as only a child can, that she had gone to a better place and was no longer in pain. Know I knew why I had picked up the teddies. I reached into my bag and said "quess what? We were passing Gods house and we went in. And these three teddies were sitting there. These are called cuddle teddies. Nana said she can,t be with you know all the time as she is with god helping him with other children. These teddies are for you when you feel sad, or when your thinking of her and missing her. The teddy is to be your friend when you need one". He smiled and took the teddy and it has been with him ever since. Except when he,s showing it off and telling people what his cuddle bear means.
The other two teddies!. One went to my other nephew who was also three. And another went to a neighbours little  girl
Each of the children were told the same story. And each of the children cherish their teddy bear.My friend who had been with me at the supermarket smiled. she understood. I am not entirly sure I understood, but I do know there was an uncontrolable impulse to buy the teddies. And the words to explain their exsistance, were excepted by those who needed, something to hug, while the adults were consoling each other. The bears and the children had an understanding.

I hope you find this story helpful.
Love peace and joy.
