Tony Robbins - 10 Lessons I Learned From Anthony Robbins
By Chris Knight
Date: 8 August 2005
Tony Robbins has been an inspiration for millions. Love him and his philosophy or not, it is undeniable that he has had a positive impact on millions of people. He has sold over 30-million motivational tapes, published three best-selling self-help books, more than 2 million people attended his seminars and another 10,000 (including myself) have attended his mastery university in Hawaii. His core products include Get The Edge - Unlimited Power - Date with Destiny - Mastery University and more.
Here are the top 10 lessons that I learned from Tony Robbins:
1) By altering your body's physiology, you can achieve an immediate change of your emotional state. The mind will follow whatever state your phsyical body is in and not vice-versa.
2) Ask specific questions of yourself (in your self-talk) to direct and control your attention to the various aspects of the human experience. The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the quality of the questions you ask of yourself.
3) Get leverage to create personal change by associating an old behavior with massive pain and the desired new behavior with massive pleasure. Tony is a big believer in the pain/pleasure principles of life and this applies in business as well.
4) When you get stuck, interupt your limiting pattern by doing something totally unexpected.
5) You can condition your behavior by visualizing it over and over again. This is not exactly unique to Tony Robbins, but he does reinforce this message in all of his products.
6) Goal-setting strategy: Know your end outcome; Take massive intelligent action; Have sensory-acuity to notice if you are getting the results you desire and if not; change your approach; and change *until* you get your end outcome.
7) Create a "Compelling future" by vividly imagining your end result to generate enthusiasm and power within yourself. The past does not equal the future. Find beliefs that support your goals and desires.
8) Youth is Power! This is one of Tony's beliefs. Even if you don't have fancy degrees, your youth can still mean power, flexibility and opportunity for your life.
9) Principles of CANI! CANI stands for Constant And Never-ending Improvement. It's a basic tenet of Tony Robbins.
10) NLP can be useful. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and there are many NLP undertones in Tony's basic tenets. He went on to morph NLP into his own technology called "NAC" (Neuro Associative Conditioning).
::. September 12, 2005 - who got game? i dID!
I have a story to tell...no everyday I have something to share you know, so please bear with me and enjoy this proud moment of russell havik's story sharing thingy :)
I went for a pick-up game over the weekend on a basketball court a bit further down the road from me house. At first I actually only wanted to shoot around. But turned out to be kinda good and bad, with the final result in blood, agony and that kind of stuff...read on please...
It was against 6'5'' kid, at first I was doing my own thing, was drilling for a jumshots here and there and this kid went over to me for a game. He actually started a bet the winner of 10pt would win 20bucks.
I thought, well 20bucks is 20bucks..I have other plan than spending it on a game, you know. So this kid went on and on (in front of his mates) making faces, screamed words like 'puck puck puck chicken' stuff. Although not directly at me but hey, you got the idea right?!
So I went over and we played a game, 9 to 1 for me, man, I was so proud of me self and kinda felt like michael jordan for a moment there..i mean, I was in the zone dude! hitting jumpers here and there. I did a little AI (Allen Iverson's crossover) stuff too, between the legs, between HIS legs, over his head and man, he was getting really frustrated. I could tell and the worst part for him was actually I burned his ass off right there in front of his mates and maybe his girlfriend too...
1 more point for me to go...I was like man, i'm getting this 20bucks..coolll! That kid went really really pissed aye and he banged the basketball sooo hard onto the hard floor and it went back, right up his face...BAM!!...it was blood everywhere running down from his nose...he was in agony, I can see it meself...
Man, I feel for him...trying to be cocky in front of his mates and got beaten up pretty badly too..what could get worse than that?...so his mates and the girl helped hima and that was it..he went away, home...i hope, get that nose fixed up...
so there, the game was forfeited/ stopped by him. I dont get my 20bucks too...but at least I still have me skills eh? and me face :p
Everyone has a personality of a cartoon character. Have you ever asked
yourself what cartoon character do you most resemble? A group of
investigators got together and analyzed the personalities of well known
and modern cartoon characters. The information that was gathered was
made into this test. Answer all the questions with what describes you best,
add up all your points at the end and look for your results.
Have some Fun!!
Have a Great Day!

The consistent play of Celtics guard Tony Allen earned him a spot on the 2005 First-Team All-RVSL. Teammates Justin Reed and Ryan Gomes earned 2nd team honors, as the C's finished the Reebok Vegas Summer League with a 4-2 record.
You've heard about "the dunk" - now see it here, exclusively on Celtics.com. In his first NBA game, Celtics rookie Gerald Green made one of the most talked about plays at the Reebok Vegas Summer League, dunking over two Clippers players and getting fouled in the process. Celtics suffer first loss in Vegas
The Celtics suffered their first loss of the Reebok Vegas Summer League, a 71-65 loss to Cleveland. The C's made a late-game surge with Tony Allen hitting a runner with 17.9 seconds left to get Boston within two but Cleveland held on to remain undefeated in summer league play.
An elephant asks a camel, " Why are your breasts on your back?"
"Well," says the camel, "I think that's a strange question from somebody whose dick is on his face."
Joke of the Day #2: Golf Injury Joke
A couple of women were playing golf one sunny Saturday morning. The first of the twosome teed off and watched in horror as her ball headed directly toward a foursome of men playing the next hole. Indeed, the ball hit one of the men, and he immediately clasped his hands together at his crotch, fell to the ground and proceeded to roll around in evident agony.
The woman rushed down to the man and immediately began to apologize. She explained that she was a physical therapist, "Please allow me to help. I'm a physical therapist and I know I could relieve your pain if you'd allow me", she told him earnestly.
"Ummph, oooh, nnooo, I'll be alright... I'll be fine in a few minutes," he replied breathlessly as he remained in the fetal position still clasping his hands together at his crotch. But she persisted, and he finally allowed her to help him. She gently took his hands away and laid them to the side, she loosened his pants, and she put her hands inside and began to massage him. She then asked him, "How does that feel?"
To which he replied, "It feels great, but my thumb still hurts like hell."
::. May 30, 2005 - The Smallest changes
The smallest changes can make the biggest difference. Because the smallest changes are the ones you can repeat over and over again.
The once-in-a-lifetime events are indeed impressive, and they certainly command your attention. Yet the routine, once-a-day actions can have a far greater impact because they are done again and again.
Every few seconds, for example, you take a breath of air, and rarely do you ever even think about doing it. Yet this small, regularly repeated action literally sustains your life and makes all your other activities possible.
When you want to make it big, think small. Find the small, easily accomplished actions that will steadily take you to your most ambitious goals.
The biggest problems will almost always yield to the smallest changes. Because the smallest changes can be overwhelmingly relentless, like tiny drops of rain wearing away the most massive boulder.
When you seek a big result, start with the small changes. They are the ones that will most reliably get you there.
