The day mum died Nom and I went back to the house to cook for those who were going to stay there. Having spent all our money on groceries 2 days before, our car was running on nothing but faith to get us back and forth from Napier to Hastings. As Nom went through the cupboards she said in a quiet voice
"Nan I need some money"
She hesitated for a second and then said, "Why am I asking you for, your not here anymore".
As she reached for the cans on the top shelf, a $20 note floated down. It wasn't the money that was so important, but the message from this happening that my Daughter received from here Nanny. It had something to do with Tithing. Something Mum had great faith in...
.
As far back as I can remember, every day mum has always been involved in my life. Whether in spirit, physically or in her teachings.
As a youngster her teachings I ignored, I now find wisdom.
Her doings I laughed at,
I now practice
And the long prayers I scoffed at
I now have faith.
Thank you mum for the memories you have left me.
Thank you mum for the life you have given me
And thank you mum for sharing your love with me.
