Geneology
Welcome family, friends and anyone else who venture's into this site. The geneology you are about to view, is about as accurate as a dog leg arrow hitting a 2 cent piece at 100metre's.Ha! In fact a lot of this information came from Maori Land Records and talking to some of our elders. If you have any information you can add to these charts, do not hesitate to contact me. I would verymuch appreciate all input. I sincerely hope this information also helps you in your search for your ancestry.

Now here's a subject that buggars up the records. Too many assumptions and personal opinions have been documented as fact and no one's non the wiser. Unless you are fortunate enough to converse with a family member or someone in close relation you would probably take it as fact.. The more you research geneology the greater the mystery becomes. For example: My grandmother is documented as Tepare Henare Wahanui. in a different document I found a Tepere Tata was also mariied to my grandfather. If my mum wasn't here to tell me they were the same person I would never have known. But it doesn't end there. My grandmother is also known as Kiritahanga or KIRI which I have always known her to be called. Kiritahanga was a nick name given to her when my grandfather died. Its hard to determine the validity of any geneological record, but if you make assumptions or have an opinion, note it on the document as an opinion and let others make their own assuptions. This will definitly help minimise the accumulated errors that have spread like a virus through the records. An error that could easily have been started with a "Perhaps"
