| I know, "but I always thought chipmunks were just gay squirrels". This is a common misconception. Yes, Chipmunks and Squirrels are related. Chipmunks are less intelligent than squirrels, but they do share common ancestors. Somewhere, down the family tree, an unfortunate inbreeding accident resulted in the species we now recognize as the chipmunk. Squirrels, being big-hearted as they are, mostly look out for their less-fortunate cousins. There is no ill-will between the squirrel and the chipmunk. |
