Details:

Runners will be able to compete in two races: the Peace Mile and either the 5K or 10K competition. The first half of the 10K race is identical to the 5K run; the second half of the race follows the general contours of the college's varsity cross-country course. In order to participate in two races, one must complete two separate registration forms. If you decide to register for two races race director Bill Puffenberger and do not want a second T-shirt, you may deduct $5.00 from the second registration form. The start and finish of both races will be at the same location. Designated registration numbers will indicate which race you have entered. The course is accurately measured. Professional timing will be provided, including mile splits. Water stations and a hose station will be supplied as needed Runners will utilize the Walker's 5k course.

Schedule:

7:15 a.m.
     On Site Registration (Registration for each even continues until 15 minutes before starting time)

8:30 a.m.
     Peace Mile (for all ages) A relatively flat and fast course for both serious and casual runners.

8:45 a.m.
     5,000 Meter Run or 10,000 Meter Run.

9:45 a.m.
     Peace Walk (3.1 miles)

10:00 a.m.
     Awards Ceremony For Runners*

11:00 a.m.
     Awards Ceremony For Walkers*
* (The number of awards is based upon number of registrations per catergory.

Awards

All winners will receive engraved hand-carved impala figurines imported from Kenya by SERRV handcrafts. SERRV is a non-profit program promoting social and economic progress of people in developing regions of the world. By using SERRV handcrafts as trophy awards, we offer you a unique award and at the same time bring dignity and needed income to a developing world artisan. Second and third place awards will vary in type. Randomly selected door prizes will be awarded.
