Tips & Tricks

Tip # 1

You should never, unless strong enough, fight a monster that is a higher level than your current combat level. You can tell if a monster is a higher level, and stronger than you by right clicking the monster. Beside the monsters name, there will be a combat level. If the monster's level appears in red it means it is much stronger than you are; if it appears yellow than it is roughly as strong as you; if it appears green then it is weaker than you are. The only time that you ever attack a monster which is a higher level than yourself (a monster with their level in red) is when you're about level thirty-five (35) combat or higher; only then you could get away with killing monsters much stronger than yourself.

Trick # 1

I have not tried this in the current RuneScape version; however, I know you can do this trick in RuneScape Classic. If you are a low level archer, lets say, for example, five (5) combat, and 10 ranged, you can kill high level monsters, lets say, for example, in this case a black knight (higher level monsters would take too long). If you went to the Bar/Inn just north of Varrock's east bank (near the wilderness) there is a black knight there. If you got something in between you and the knight (example: a table so the knight couldn't attack you), you could start ranging him. After about a dozen or so arrows are shot log out, and immediately log in again. Then you can get any arrows, that reappeared on the floor, safely, without fear of the black knight attacking you. This will take a long time; however, eventually you will kill him and gain allot of ranged experience.

WARNING: If you do this trick you will not see the treasure dropped by the monster (in the above case, the monster being a black knight) immediately. You will have to wait for it to appear. This is risky as you may miss your hard earned treasure if there are other people around. If, however, you are quick you should not have a problem doing this trick.
