Gator came to us from KenMar (Carolyn Mills) in South Dakota. He was born Dec. 1994. No, he is not a Champion, he is oversized, but he is a love.
In August 1998, on a Saturday night we sat watching pre-season Bears... Smelled smoke, but we are somewhat rural and have a 'trash-burning' neighbor. Gator was in the house; our other dogs were locked up.
Gator was NUTS. I wasn't feeling well so I went to bed. Gator paced; Gator talked; Gator raced from the bed to the couch... Wayne took Gator out for 1 last potty, planning to crate him when he came back in. There was no smokey smell outside. OUR HOUSE WAS ON FIRE.
According to the paramedics and firefighters, our MONSTEROIS saved our lives!
Gator lives in comfort in our house; he is leased annually to one of our 4-H members for 4-H competition. |
