Communicating With Me
I continue to make every effort to remain
as accessible as possible to as many as possible in the game.
Many people have said how much they wish they could be like me, to which I have
two responses. First, anyone can be like me, just do what I did, as
much as I did it, that's how the game works. Second, I say no one wants to
be like me, it's like being in a crowded room, carrying 100 cell phones, many of
which are not only ringing, but have answered themselves, so all those people
calling are actually talking to me at once. Imagine what a nightmare this
can be.
Many times I have gotten more pm's than I can read before they are gone from the
history. It often takes the best part of an hour to respond to the
initial rush of pm's when I first log on, and those are just the ones I am able
to read. At times, I have simply logged off, rather than struggle to deal
with all the requests. Many times I have looked at my computer, wanting to
spend some relaxing time playing, and knowing it will be anything but relaxing,
I just don't play. If you cannot understand how difficult this makes it
to simply enjoy playing don't expect to be on my friends list.
I will be keeping privacy on as a matter of course, and limiting the number who have direct
access. These are a few longtime friends I have met along the way,
those who are committed to representing me, my largest suppliers, my largest
clients, and those with whom I am currently doing business. While
Runescape allows 100 friends on the friends list, I will maintain my own levels
according to what I can reasonably respond to.
This website is the primary means of communications. It is designed to
answer most of the questions I get asked, and to help you understand what I am
doing and what interests me. If you are telling a friend about me, please include this
website as the place to start. Please look here first before asking me
questions already answered here.
My email address is no longer an effective way to communicate with me.
Very few emails were worth the effort to read them, so I stopped keeping up with
them on a timely basis.
Chat: I generally ignore chat and, depending on the abusive level, may
turn it off entirely. If we know each other, and are standing beside me,
and talk to me, please do not take offense if I do not answer. Mining and
smithing generates a large number of game messages which rapidly obscure
chat. I sometimes smith with stout, which is time-limited, and I prefer to
finish smithing before I respond to chat.
Also, I tend to be very focused in my efforts, and if I am typing, I am standing still, and I
generally dislike standing still.
Thank you for understanding and cooperating.
