My name is Albert Fuentes and my teaching experience is relatively short. I just started teaching Kindergarten at Hillery T. Broadous Elementary in Pacoima, CA. This school is part of the LAUSD system. Before this, I worked as a substitute teacher, at the elementary level, in districts 1 and 2 (LAUSD) since January 2006. It was an invaluable experience because I had the opportunity to teach from pre-k all the way to 5th grade.
I earned my Multiple Subject Credential from CSUN in December 2005 after going to school part time for several years. I owe this huge accomplishment to the constant support of my wife and two children.

I believe that any child can succeed when exposed to multiple teaching modalities. My classroom is a structured learning environment filled with hands-on learning centers. Students spend the mornings working on a variety of skill building tasks located throughout the room. There are learning puzzles, a listening center, a variety of language arts interactive games, sequencing and comprehension activities, math tiles and mony more manipulatives. Students are actively involved in learning and helping one another to succeed.

This is the class that made this website and all its contents possible. I was under the constant guide of Dr. Chang, a professor at Cal State Northridge. I learned so many tricks in this class and I am certain that I will apply most of them in the near future in my own classroom.
