Years later, Jennifer is now nineteen years old, but still as timid and weak-hearted as when she was a kid at the mercy of the Red Crayon Aristocracy. Her memories of her childhood after the airship crash and before leaving the orphanage are still locked away. She falls asleep while sitting in a park and wakes up in what seems to be the same one at first.

Jennifer suddenly spots a dog watching her from some distance away. It looks oddly familiar. The dog trots over to her, and she backs away, frightened, but eventually she works up some courage and moves to pet the dog. He looks away suddenly, and she follows his gaze to see two girls playing and laughing amongst the roses. Though she does not realize it, they are actually Wendy and a younger version of herself.

Jennifer smiles to herself at the innocent sight. Looking back, she is startled to see that the dog is no longer there. In fact, she is puzzled to realize that he is nowhere to be seen in the entire park. The shadow of an airship suddenly glides over the area, a odd sight in those days. As she stands up to get a better look, she is enveloped in darkness and blacks out.
