An introvert who is second-in-command to Diana.  She is known as the "cold princess", because of her very distant nature and expressionless face.  No matter what the other girls did, she would never show any emotion.  She always carries around a birdcage, in which she kept a toy bird she seemed to treasure as one that would bring her happiness. This bird is real in adult-Jennifer's twisted recollection.

At the orphanage, she would spend most of her time sweeping out on the balcony, so that she could look up at the sky whenever she wanted.  She longed for wings, so that she could fly away from the horrible orphanage where she was trapped without hope.  In the end, she was unable to find the happiness she so desperately wanted because of her own cold heart.

In July, the "Bird of Happiness" was made the Gift of the Month.  It was taken, along with her dress, by Meg and Diana, in the middle of the night one day.  They hid it, broken and wrapped in her clothers, then bet on whether she would cry or get mad.  In her nightgown, wearing only one sock, she wandered around the entire orphanage and eventually found it.  Much to the girls' dismay, she picked it up and tossed it into the gift box without reacting at all.
Though she found Meg annoying, she still helped her take the koi from Mr. Hoffman's office, cut it in two, and attach it to the top half of a stuffed toy to make the Unmarried Mermaid for the Gift of the Month.  It is possible she did this to get back at Diana for what she and Meg did to her bird.  During this time, she was rarely seen with the birdcage she'd always carried around before.
In December, Eleanor follows the others as they go out to tease Wendy and is killed by Stray Dog.  Due to the location of her body/dress, it seems she was the first to recover from the shock of seeing the others killed and tried to run back inside, only to be killed on the steps of the orphanage, just short of the door.
