| Probably would be the only time that he'd say that anyone else had
as good of taste in clothing as himself, Betty quipped.
After Betty said a final farewell to her analogs, Betty 1 and Ragan,
she and the Doctor dematerialize in the TARDIS.
"So, where too now," Betty asks the Time Lord eagerly. "And tell me
again exactly what the Rules and Agents want of you."
The Doctor nods and proceeds to tell the tale found in episode 10625.
"And...sorry Doctors, you will be able to travel back to your home
universes after this is done," Agent 1 smiled, "But.....you will be able
to visit a few parallel versions of it. Part of your new job as Champion.
Here and on other universe......"
The Doctor finishes after telling that, and Betty has a look of thoughtfulness.
"Okay, let's get this straight," she mutters to herself, "Doctor who
is now a guardian of sorts of both your universe and Doctor Which's universe
since you and he can no longer there, despite the special lifting of the....er....anchor
that held you in the Terra Prime universe....."
"Is it now that the other universes that Doctor who can visit are ones
which.....kinda split off from a focal point?" Betty asks the Doctor, "The
focal point surrounding the question of whether or not you'd ever return
after Author Scott swept you and your brother into this mess?"
"Yes, it was indeed," the Doctor says, nodding in appreciation at Betty's
insight, "The universe I will return to is mine.....a universe where that
a question of my returning was ‘yes.'"
"Very clever, my dear!" he continued, "I'm glad that you came along.
Some of my companions in the past...."
The Doctor grimaces, coughs, and then continues.
"Anyway, I usually don't try to look into matters surrounding my future....since
that is not something very appetizing," he finishes, "But since it's obvious
while you have pertinant information that would be very useful in the future
it won't be like I was looking directly into my own future, locking myself
into a course of action!"
"Oh, I'd be happy to help there," Betty smiled, "I've seen a lot of
your show....er.....the show that mimicked you life to a point."
The Time Lord and Betty smile, sharing a companionable moment.
"Now, as for the next destination," the Time Lord says tapping something
into the control column, "I had urgent business to attend to before I was
diverted. Hopefully, the TARDIS will return to the space/time coordinates
where I'd left off at. Sarah Jane had something to tell me about that wedding
gift I'd given her......"
