our heads for a few days, this would be the ideal place to stay whilst
we decide what to do with the rest of our lives," Thelma said. "The place
has obviously been well-looked after. The thatch is in good repair and
the door and window frames have recently been painted." "But it's asking
rather a lot to stay without giving anything in return, and we have no
money," Louise pointed out. "Perhaps we could offer to do a few odd jobs
about the place?" Thelma suggested.
The girls walked up to the front door, and Sigourney used the (apparently recently polished) door-knocker.
