On the Third Hand Business. . .

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 43140

Ti'mma

Has been a VERY long series of Validation Quest! Wonder how many of my children or others remain to still chaperon. Yes, that is the question!

Yes, a good question indeed considering the huge numbers that came "online" that has tasked us. So on one hand we'd been rather busy: hands full with a waiting line (even though the clan was rather large). Remember, not only were we talking about four tribes (Go-Backs, Wolfriders, Sunfolk, and Wolfriders), but four tribes who's members had been . . . well . . . replicated perhaps would be a word for it. Yes, some had been replicated up to eight times! On another hand, we vetted Champions have been at it after awhile so the numbers should have been whittled down the numbers! Even IF some of our numbers aren't available due to injuries sustained in prior Validation Quest in getting it done successfully OR going straight away on Honeymoons after their Quest.... Yes, we still have the numbers for it.

. . .

Then on a third (kind perhaps dragon sized) hand . . . Well, believe that Cuthbert put it best: we D'Honaires seem to pick up strays . . .

What's this? Seems that I was right on that third hand business! Have a rather large crowd of new faces right here. Right now! Oh, some have faces that are similar to uncles and aunts I'd grown up around, but still . . .

However, before I begin to wonder if we vetted Champions will ever be done with this latest round of Validation Quests, I find out that . . . it is not needed. Due to this . . . murky business the Rules and Agents have with their other Office Counterparts, validation Quests are not needful for these new faces here! This is good, considering that that new demifox couple seems more interested in looking after their newborn kits than going on any adventures in the near future.

...

Sorry, I alway have to smile at scenes where new parents are dotting over their newborn children....

That and I'd almost tripped over another demifox couple who'd not been there just a few seconds ago! Again, they look similar to Demifox Fred and Demifox Astra, but not the same. Or at least the female demifox looks kind of like Auntie Demifox Astra when she's in her humanoid fox form . . .

There are other things, but even MORE obvious than her pregnancy (hmm) is that this particular demifox (who'll tell me she and her mate here are going to come up with new names) . . . this paricular set is not one of the Rules or Agents Champions. Not even from another Office, really. Yep, I'm talking they're mortal demifoxes . . . with the female being in a family way (girl twins, will find out later). But that aside, they're still family! The Champion demifoxes (Demifox Fred and Astra 2) take up the task of getting the newcomers oriented. Even get into discussing what they want to name their children (those who're out and those still yet to be born, respectively).

....

In retrospect, perhaps I should have helped a little there. Seems that the Champion demifoxes, when they finally decide on names, chose names that their elder demifox kin had already chosen for their tots! Well, they laugh a little bit and tag on a 2, happy all the same.

...

Well, anyway instead of going off to talk with the new parents I (and my husband, who himself has just returned from a separate Validation Quest) go off to see who needs Chaperoning still!

And it appears that old friends of mine have the same thing in mind! More on that in a bit! Right now, here's the list (newbies in italics and life partners in regular text):

Dragoness Andrea - Dragon Synizn 2

Nimi'aia (do sometimes question why certain elfin customs survived that prevents the "lower" classes from questing together)

Triakoth - Elvaraniel (wonder what her story is?)

  1. "Jarlath 2 and friends," I call out. "Well met!"
