says. "Are you threatening us?" Fred asks. His hand goes to his belt, where
he would normally find his sword, but then he remembers that there is no
longer a sword there. "Hear him out, Fred," says Astra, putting a restraining
hand on his arm. "I think I know who this may be, in which case he can
be of great help to us." "I can see you are a shrewd one, if perhaps occasionally
over-free with your tongue," remarks Synizn. "However we can't safely talk
here. Where you have once been overheard, you may be again." "We have taken
a room here. We can talk there," says Astra.

Fred is mistrustful and unwilling to go to their room, where he fears the
man might attack them.
