sigh...i know i cant begin to tell you how amazing rufus is because you obviously know...i do have a fabulous story though...i saw him im louisville, kentucky on april the 3rd, i think it was, of 1999-- it was in this great venue called headliners (and fo those of you who clip articles, the was a great feature about this show in rolling stone..the one with austin powers on the cover...)anyway-- i had to lie to get in-- i was only 17 at the time and luckily the bouncer was nice-- so once i was in i grabbed a seat near the stage and held my breath until imogin finished her (decent, although too tori-wannabe-like)set-- then...he waled out onstage and i was completely mesmorized for the next hour and a half-- he talked to us, told stories, took off some clothe , and of coursed bathed us in beautiful music... after the show rufus came out to shake hands and kiss babies so to speak-- and after he'd made it through the knot of people at the stage door and was heading for the bar, i stopped him to tell him how impressed i was...as we were talking i began playing ith the necklace i was wearing (nervous habit i guess-- then it hit me-- i took it off and put it in his hands-- "here" i said "i made this necklace and its one of my favorites...so-- id like you to have it" he took it and thanked me with a hug and an au ograph and put the necklace in the pocket of his black and white houndstooth jacket-- i was thinking-- oh he'll get on his tour bus and toss it in a drawerfull of necklaces made by adoring fans and 12 year old girls who think hes better than leo-- so i let the memory fade somewhat and hadnt thought about it till one fine day...when... a friend who had gone to the show came rushing into the small coffee house where i work-- he was clutching a rolling stone (the one with nick cage on the cover) and he handed it to me...i flipped to an article about fathers and sons-- on such duo mentione was rufus and his daddy louden-- theres this great fullpage photo of them and i skimmed the article and checked out the photo and handed it back to bryan saying that id have to go get one when i went to the grocery-- "no..dean...look at his neck.." i snatched the magazine and breathlessly turned to the full page photo-- there it was-- my neclace was resting just above his collarbone, just below his adam's apple, still on that same piece of knotted leather; he was really wearing it...the simple woode batik bead with the star explosion-- i was absolutely tickeled with delight-- whats more, he still wears it as far as i know-- he was in instyle magazine (with catherine zeta-jones on the cover) wearing it-- even though you can only see it from the side, i know its the one i gave him. and i talked to a girl online the other day who had seen one of his last concerts and i asked h r about it and she knew exactly what i was talking about! she said he was wearing it at the show-- it makes me feel so good to know that he really likes something that i made-- i am awestruck by all of his music, so to think that im able to give him something after hes given me something-- its a nice exchange... ive been trying to get in tough with him but i cant seem to find an email address what works-- if anyone knows how i can contact rufus please let me know- dean fisher [email protected]

Hi! Just wanted to wrote and say I think it's awesome that someone is helping get more publicity for Rufus. I sing and also DJ a lot in Philadelphia and ALWAYS incorporate some of his music whenever I can while DJ'ing. Thanks again! -Jimmy

Hi, could not agree more, this is a balladist that remember me of Elton in his prime, but with more blues and more beer and smokey stillettoes, great songs and what a wonderful model for youth. Bonjour, Hi, I love Rufus Wainwright's music. I think he is the new Leonard Cohen (another of my favourite) of Montr�al. I live in Montr�al and he brings with him the atmosphere of the city. Just like Cohen. Long time ago, my mother and i used to listen to his mother's music (Les soeurs McGariggle). And now we listen to him. This young man has a lot of talent and i think he will have a lot success not just here, but worldwide. Great page you made. Hope you will put more information on him and his music :)
