A little about us....

The Rutgers  University Equestrian Team is dedicated to providing a competitive, social,  and educational atmosphere to any student, faculty, or staff of the university   with an interest in horseback riding. As a university recognized sport club, the equestrian team (aka RUET)   is a student-run, student funded organization.; Each year, the team's seven elected officers and volunteer coach, Kelly Lamont  Francfort, strive to make the team the best that it can be, both competitively  and otherwise.

Success is something  that is not unfamiliar to the members of RUET. For many years, the team  has enjoyed a winning tradition as a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.  Each year we are at or near the top of the heap in our competitive region. Our riders compete both as individuals and as a part of the team, English and Western disciplines in intercollegiate horse shows. Many of our riders qualify for regionals and zones each year. Some even go to nationals!!

The pride that is felt by our team members cannot be built without a strong foundation. That foundation, on which our successes have been achieved, is the members  themselves. Social events are organized throughout the year to promote  the development of team cohesion. When an individualized sport such as riding is brought into a team setting, cohesion is a key component to our success  as an organization, both in and out of the show ring. But perhaps most importantly, social events give us the opportunity to sit back, relax, and  have fun with other students who share our interests.

Please feel free to contact any of our members with questions and we hope to see you at our meetings.
