I went to California with a group of fellow students from Central Washington University's music department.  Our top jazz choir performed for the International Association for Jazz Education national conference (and gave an awesome performance!), and the rest of us just went to learn things, watch people, and enjoy the weather...

The performing jazz choir planned their trip seperately from our group, yet we just happened to end up on the same plane to Cali.  Here we are waiting at our gate.
I love plane rides!  Here is a picture of Mount Rainier, Washington from the sky.    There was beautiful scenery     the whole trip...
...like this!  Ah, beautiful scenery!  This is a view from the Long Beach Convention Center (yes, where our IAJE convention was) on the first night of our stay.  This did a great job of getting me excited for the rest of our stay in this snow-free place!
We all saw tons of excellent jazz performances while we were there.  Here is Brian, Jusdan and Emily at one of the many many concerts.
Here is a performer from one of the many groups.  This guy is playing an instrument somewhat like a guitar, but it sounds very different.  This group was from Jerusalem!  Very fun.  I had to take this picture for my friend Deborah because she says Israeli guys are hot.  :)
