Yes, I know this is not a very good picture. Okay, here's the thing. I desperately wanted to wear a doublet with my kirtle to the faire. Unfortunately, I only had one day to draft the pattern, cut it out, and sew it together. I was limited on material, and put together what scraps I had to get this.(There is a guard on the kirtle that matches the doublet material) I was so thrilled when I finished that I threw it all on, grabbed the camera, and ran to the mirror to gloat. Also unfortunately, I had to gloat silently because it was one-thirty in the morning. Everyone else was sleeping so they could get up to leave at seven. That left me to my own devices, hence the photos in the mirror. I will get better ones up soon.
By the way, if you are thinking that I do much of my sewing in the wee hours, you would be correct. I seem to work much better between midnight and three. |
