| The bodice is made to be worn without a corset, and although it is interlined with duck, it has no boning to speak of. The bottom most clasp in this picture is mostly covered by the turned up skirt. The underskirt is double layers, so it serves as both underskirt and petticoat. My main goals with this outfit were: to make something that was comfortable to wear (especially in 90 degree humid weather), to have the outfit look nice, not to spend to much time or expense on it, and to have something that was not completely historically inaccurate (mind you that I said completely). By the way, the orange is not so, well, orange in real life. |
