Envy- A painful or resentful awareness of another's advantage joined with the desire to possess the same advantage.
Many people resent others who are better or have better than others.
I heard someone tell me the reason why that person puts down on people is because that would make him or her safer. That person felt that anyone better than that person, at least better in worldly standards, felt that the people would make fun of him or her. So to make him or her feel better, that person would put down on people and in a sense, not knowing, judge them.
Love does not do that. Love praises with the persons joy.
For someone to get a promotion or better life, it should add to your happiness and not give you resentment like most people have. Love does not Envy.
