| Beginner Method, Step 4 | |||||||||||||||||||
| This step marks the beginning of the last layer, or LL. We've already solved two-thirds of the cube! This step uses two algorithms, each six moves long. | |||||||||||||||||||
| At this point, turn the cube so that the layer which used to be D is now U, that is, flip the cube upside-down. Then look at only the edge stickers on the U face. There are four possible patterns for them: (1) all are yellow, (2) two adjacent ones are yellow, (3) two opposite ones are yellow, or (4) none are yellow. | |||||||||||||||||||
| (1) This step is skipped! Go on to the next step! (2) Put the non-yellow edges at UR/UF and do F U R U' R' F' (3) Put the non-yellow edges at UF/UB and do F R U R' U' F' (4) Do either of the above algorithms, then go back and try again (you won't get this case the next time) |
