A LATE NIGHT GARDEN PARTY

A late night garden party
with all her special friends
what could be any better
than a party when the day ends?

A blanket spread upon the grass
the moon and stars for light
a feast of tea and biscuits
for her friends and her tonight

The invitations were sent out
and each replied they would attend
almost time for them to arrive
then the party can begin

First to arrive, the night fairies
with a sparkle of their own
and next the little dragonflies
my gosh, how they have grown

Special guests, the Monarch butterflies
promising they would stay up late
and last of all, the wood nymphs
coming through the garden gate

A joyful time was had by all
the tea and biscuits are now gone
agreeing they'd all do this again
as they laughed the whole night long

Now asleep upon the blanket
mother carrries her child to bed
you made it to just nine o'clock
Sweet dreams my sleepy head!!
