With lots of helpers, supper was soon ready and the talk was lively around the table. �Hey, Dad,� Mart called across the table. �Did you see the article in yesterday�s newspaper about how the Dairy Queen has really been starting to spread? The article said there were less than ten at the end of 1941 and as of 1947, there were one hundred!� Rubbing his hands together and licking his lips just thinking about that tasty �soft serve� treat, he nudged Dan and said, �Maybe Sleepyside will have one someday.� �Don�t forget the A&W Rootbeer Stand,� Dan told him. �I hope we get one of those too.� He had read about those awhile back, and although he dearly loved Wimpy�s burgers, he was certainly interested in the A&W Rootbeer Stand concept.



	Before they knew it, supper was finished and the Bob-Whites shooed Moms into the living room to relax � they�d do the dishes. Sounds of laughter erupted from the kitchen every so often and a few crashes were heard and more laughter. Moms grinned at Peter�s alert expression after one particularly loud crash and said to him, �Don�t worry, dear; my new plastic dinnerware is safe.� Racing into the kitchen, Bobby cried, �C�mon everybuddy, Candid Microphone is almost on.� The new show was a hit with the Bob-Whites and their friends and families. They loved seeing what Allen Funt and his helpers would pull on people. Mart, with a secret gleam in his eye, was envisioning being Allen�s helper and was waiting for Christmas. He had been throwing out hints for the new Polaroid Land Camera that was to be in the stores by Christmas. He couldn�t wait to start surprising everyone with an instant picture and shouting, �Smile � you�re on Candid Camera� just as he clicked. Smiling to himself, �This will be sweet!!� Peter, having gone back to reading the newspaper after the show was over, commented on an article for Glidden Latex Paint he was looking at. �We�ll have to try it out this coming summer. It�s based on a form of synthetic rubber, it dries rapidly and can be cleaned or mixed with water instead of turpentine.� Grinning at the boys, he told them, �That�ll save you fellas a lot of time.� �Oh WOW, will you look at that!!!� cried Dan, looking at the back page of the newspaper Peter was holding. �Look at that swell looking Buick with the Dynaflow Drive! It�s only $2622.45 for the Model 71 Roadmaster 4-door sedan!�
