Moms, after spreading her new $1.95 tablecloth on the kitchen table and placing a vase of fresh mums from her garden in the center, sat down and opened the newspaper. Going to the grocery ads, she shook her head. Prices have sure risen over the past few years. Quickly going to one of the kitchen drawers, Moms pulled out a little notebook and soon found what she was looking for. Aha, I knew it! she cried, finding a notation from thirteen years ago in 1935. Potatoes 10 lb. 21
Continuing to peruse the Sleepyside Sun as well as looking in her notebook copy of Prices of Groceries Over The Years, Moms let out a soft whistle and murmured, Will you look at the price of eggs and chicken!
