INTRODUCTION

Mohammed Al-Ahmari MSc, RRT is a Director of Respiratory Care Program at at the Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The PSMCHS has the honor of being known as the oldest continuous standing Respiratory Therapy training program physically in existence in Saudi Arabia, originating from 1988.

Currently, Mohammed is pursuing a research PhD program in Respiratory Medicine at University College London and concurrently undergoing a Research Fellowship in Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust & University College Medical School, London, UK.

He is holding the position of Advisory Editor for "Respiratory Therapy, the Journal of Pulmonary Technique", USA, and is an Editorial Board Member for "Annals of Thoracic Medicine", KSA.

His professional life is dedicated to the advance of respiratory medicine in particular and providing for the advancement of knowledge and educational programs in health care, specifically respiratory medicine to diverse health care communities.

His qualifications include more than fourteen years of experience in Respiratory Therapy in the areas of clinical practice, management, education and consulting. He has studied and/or worked domestically and internationally with significant work experience in the USA, UK, Saudi Arabia and surrounding countries.


APPOINTMENTS

Former President of the Saudi Respiratory Care Group (analogous in Saudi Arabia to the American Association for Respiratory Care). The Saudi Respiratory Care Group is under the auspices of the Saudi Thoracic Society, and serves as a professional organization for respiratory care practitioners and interested parties in Saudi Arabia and surrounding countries.

Saudi Respiratory Care Group constituent educational and institutional members include; the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Riyadh, the Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, Dhahran, the Institute of Health Sciences, Riyadh and the King Faisal University, Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Dammam.

Co-Chairman of the First Saudi Respiratory Care Conference featuring internationally known speakers in Respiratory Care Management, Education and Medicine from around the world; in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Recipient of the prestigious 2005 American Association for Respiratory Care/American Respiratory Care Foundation (AARC/ARCF) - International Fellowship Award, with designation of: "AARC International Fellow".


EDUCATION - CREDENTIALS

His introduction to Respiratory Therapy was at the Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, then known as the Military College of Health Sciences. He graduated with honors, after a three and one-half year Diploma Program, under direction of Russell Robinson MBA, RRT, CCPT, CPFT.
