| Sep 2, 2001 | Amanda from Seattle | Sept 5, 2001 | Schmitz Park #1 | Seattle, WA |
The Schmitz Park letterboxes are ones that Amanda (from Seattle!) placed and checks up on regularly. She reported the box she hid the hitchhiker in as missing, along with the hitchhiker. Since I've gotten no reports on the hitchhiker since the box went missing, we've assumed the hitchhiker has sadly passed away. However, Amanda (from Seattle!) took the liberty of recreating my original stamp so the hitchhiker can continue to live a long and prosperous life! Version 2.0 is really her creation. The original image might have been my own, but she carved the stamp and released the hitchhiker into the wild.

* While I know this looks strangely suspicious, I did NOT know Amanda hid the letterbox at Ridgefield until I happened to come across it on my own. I assumed Amanda rehid the hitchhiker in the Schmitz Park series so it could continue its journey from the last known location of version 1.0. I never got any e-mails about it being picked up or dropped off, so until I found it at Ridgefield I figured it was either still at Schmitch Park or someone picked it up and/or dropped it off elsewhere without e-mailing about the hitchhiker's travels.
If you find either of these hitchhikers or have any information about their whereabouts, condition, or can fill in any missing blanks in the tables above, please e-mail me at [email protected].
NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
