Beach Battle

Beach Battle is the biggest Pay Per View of the summer, very similar to the WWE's Summerslam. And lots of storyline and matches were booked, so hope you enjoy what you see.

August 8th, 2002
Arena: Past Stage Yoshi's Island

(Union Underground's "Across the Nation" plays as Beach Battle begins! Orange fireworks blast all over the arena! The crowd is on their feet!)
Ryan: HERE IT IS, EVERYONE! THE BIGGEST PAY PER VIEW OF THE SUMMER: BEACH BATTLE! Hello everyone, I am Ryan!
Jeff: And I'm Jeff Manning! And, man! It's hot outside of this arena! Like about 95 degrees!
Ryan: Right. Well there are 4 big matches today! The European, Tag Team, Intercontinental, and SSB Championship belts will all be on the line today!
Jeff: Whoo-hoo! Well guess what's at the top of the news today! Mario's coming out with a BRAND NEW GAMECUBE GAME! (shows the game box) Mario Sunshine! A whole new adventure! Also starring Peach, Yoshi, and possibly Bowser and Luigi. I don't know yet. But we'll find out, when it comes in stores near the end of this month!
Ryan: Don't forget that we will mention about "Behind the scenes" of some of our SSB Superstars today. Well, we are live at the Past Stage of Yoshi's Island. Great day outside also for this event!
Jeff: We did Behind the scenes at Summer Slamfest, but not at Fireworks Fight.
Ryan: And the main event today is Ganondorf defending the SSB Championship against Yoshi. Ganondorf's been the champion ALL summer! Yoshi could win today. Who knows?
Jeff: Anything else? I want to watch some SSB!
Ryan: One more thing. The SSB Melee Championship will temporarily be known as the "SSB Melee Undisputed Championship". Ganondorf is the current holder of that title.
Jeff: Okay, let's start!
(Benefit's "Warp to World 69" plays as the crowd is booing. Mario enters.)
Dean Harrington: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the SSB Melee Chairman, Mario!
Jeff: We always start a Pay Per View with Mario having something to say! I mean, what the hell?
Ryan: Mario is a former European and Intercontinental Champion.
Jeff: The WWE got rid of their European title, but SSB Melee's keepin theirs!
Ryan: There are rumors that a new SSB Melee belt might come. But it might not be true.
Jeff: It's false. We have all the belts now.
Mario: (has a mic) Hello, people of Yoshi's Island! (crowd is booing at Mario) I have so much news for today, so sit back and carefully listen! First of all, I am going to be on an adventure soon, which will be known as....Mario Sunshine. (crowd is cheering)
Jeff: I mentioned that already! Dumb Mario...
Mario: And you might have all seen the commercial already, with that funny song and seeing a guy in a Mario costume! You might have seen me in the game already! I have a water gun on my back, to help plants, and I clean the world! About my water gun, the bottom line is: My water gun will be better than Luigi's Poltergust 3000, I'll tell you that! (crowd boos) And speaking of Luigi, I sure am glad that Mr. Game & Watch turned his back on Luigi and took his European Championship! (crowd boos) Mr. Game & Watch is now friends with ME! (crowd boos again) I know that he'll beat Luigi today and retain his gold!
Ryan: I don't know about that. Luigi is experienced in the ring.
Mario: And now...we move on to today's main event! Ganondorf verses Yoshi! That 4- man tournament we had in mid-July was great! First, Ganondorf defended the Undisputed Championship against Donkey Kong and destroyed him! And then Yoshi won over Mewtwo, to make him No. 1 contender for the Undisputed Championship! Ah, yes. The Undisputed Championship will be--(BOWSER'S MUSIC INTERRUPTS MARIO! THE CROWD GOES NUTS!)
Ryan: Wait a minute!
Jeff: That's Bowser's music! (The lights in the arena shut down!)
Ryan: Bowser must want something from Mario. There's no reason to interrupt your boss!
Jeff: But what does he want?
Ryan: Seems suspicious. Bowser & Mario have had alot of history together.
(Flames burst and the lights flash multi colors as heavy metal music plays!)
Jeff: Yeah! Flames and Kid Rock!
Ryan: ...Maybe Bowser will challenge Mario!
Jeff: Oh, that would be cool! Right here at Beach Battle!
Ryan: Well Bowser's music is playing, but........there doesn't seem to be any sign of him!
Jeff: Where is he?
Ryan:.....Wait a minute! (BOWSER APPEARS ON THE TITANTRON!)
Jeff: Quiet! Bowser's on the titantron! He's gonna speak!
Ryan: Bowser looks like he's in the parking lot. He looks happy about something. (Bowser's music stops)
Bowser: HEY MARIO!!! IT'S YOUR OL' RIVAL, BOWSER!!! Guess what I have in the trunk of my truck right here! HA-HA-HA!!! It is a princess, but it's not Zelda! It's....PEACH!!! (OPENS TRUNK AND PEACH IS INSIDE, TIED IN ROPES!)
Ryan: OH MY GOD!
Jeff: BOWSER HAS KIDNAPPED PEACH AGAIN!
Mario: WHAT THE HELL?!
Bowser: HA-HA-HA!!! That's what you get for not letting me have another shot for the Undisputed title! You want her?! (shuts trunk) COME GET HER!!!
Mario: GOD DAMN IT!!! BOWSER, I AM SO (beep noise) TIRED OF SEEING YOU KIDNAP MY WIFE ALL THE TIME!!! WELL THAT'S IT!!! BOWSER, YOU AND ME: ONE ON ONE! TODAY, HERE AT BEACH BATTLE! (CROWD GOES NUTS!)
Ryan: OH MY GOD!
Jeff: YES! ANOTHER FIGHT BETWEEN MARIO AND BOWSER! YES!
Mario: Don't you even learn, Bowser?! After all these battles we have had since 1985, I have defeated you EVERY time! (crowd boos!) If you want to get beaten up again, then fine! I'd be happy to kick your ass here at Beach Battle! And if I win--I mean WHEN I win, I get Peach back, you obese, shit-eating bastard! (crowd goes "Oooooh" as Mario leaves the ring!)
Jeff: Uh oh! Mario's gonna make Bowser mad if he calls him stuff like that!
Bowser: Ha-ha-ha! You really think so Mario? I have been here for a year! Remember I started making these fake stalks on Donkey Kong exactly one year ago? So I know how you fight here Mario! I have been bodybuilding here for a year! You have no idea about winning this match! How are you going to survive when you stand in the same ring as BOWSER?! Ha-ha-ha! I'll see you in the ring! (titantron shuts off)
Ryan: It's on! Mario verses Bowser! This is their........11th Battle?
Jeff: I think so! Mario is 10-0 over Bowser. See if he can do it again!
Ryan: Well first, we're going to see Fox McCloud and Falco Lombardi take on Young Link and the SSB Melee Light-Heavyweight Champion, Ice Climber Popo, in a Tag Team Match! And it's coming up next!
(Commercial Break)

TAG TEAM MATCH- & vs &
Young Link & Ice Climber Popo def. Fox McCloud & Falco Lombardi
(The camera is backstage in the NWO's locker room. Fox & Falco leave the room and are heading to the ring.)
Fox: I can't wait until we get revenge on Popo and that Link-wannabe!
Falco: They're gonna just suffer! The 2 of us are the greatest Tag Team today! Let's go get the job done!
Fox: Right! (Both leave the camera's sight)
(Ice-like Music is playing. The crowd is booing!)
Jeff: WHOA! Listen to the crowd!
Ryan: They seem to be booing Ice Climber Popo!
(Ice Climber Popo and Young Link both enter with Nana. Popo poses by holding his hammer up.)
Dean: The following contest is a Tag Team Match and is scheduled for 1 stock elimination mode. Introducing first, being accomapnied by Ice Climner Nana, at a combined weight of about 120 pounds, Young Link and the SSB Melee Light-Heavyweight Champion, Ice Climber Popo!
Ryan: I still can't believe Bowser again kidnapped Peach!
Jeff: Speaking of kidnapping, Ganondorf still has Zelda!
Ryan: The Womens title will not be for grabs until Peach is rescued!
(The broadcast gets interrupted by the NWO! The NWO logo is on the screen as the NWO theme plays! Fox & Falco enter!)
Dean: And their opponents, representing the NWO, at a combined weight of about 330 pounds, Falco Lombardi and Fox McCloud, the NWO!
Ryan: This match was made when this match was scheduled last month. Fox & Falco lost the match and were cheated out of the match! They were so angry, they demanded a rematch!
Jeff: This'll be good.
(The Bell Rings!)
Ryan: Fox went for Popo but hit Nana instead at ringside! Now he has Popo! Falco going after Young Link.
Jeff: I can hardly see what's going on! They're moving & attacking too fast!
Ryan: Looks like Fox & Falco are in control.
Jeff: There we go! Now we're separated!
Ryan: Nice throw by Falco! Falco might have Popo beat here. Popo is getting back in the ring--
Jeff: YES!!! FALCO DUNKED POPO!!!
Ryan: POPO GETS SENT DOWN INTO THE BOTTOMLESS PIT!
Jeff: POPO IS ELIMINATED! Now Young Link is getting double-teamed!
Ryan: Leave that poor kid alone! He's gonna get a beating from the NWO!
Jeff: Man, Fox & Falco are demolishing him! Split kick by Fox!
Ryan: Now look at Fox! Look at the strength! Fox with a Military Press to Young Link!
Jeff: I love seeing this match! Young Link is helpless! Nice kick by Falco!
Ryan: Man the NWO is all over Young Link! Wait a minute! SPINNING HEEL KICK TO YOUNG LINK! That is Fox McCloud's Finishing Move!
Jeff: It's gotta be over here for Young Link!
Ryan: Oh, but Fox & Falco are still gonna beat him up! They're just getting started! Young Link landed on the cloud platform and Fox & Falco are going up there!
Jeff: Wait a minute! Young Link is back up! He's punching Falco! Look at this! HE THREW FALCO OUT! FALCO IS ELIMINATED!
Fox: Why you little-- (punches Young Link hard!) I'm gonna teach you a lesson, you rubber mouse!
Ryan: Fox is talking trash to Young Link.
Jeff: Young Link comes back with a powerful attack! He is mistreating the NWO!
Ryan: Oh, but Fox comes back with a Falling Powerslam and a giant blast from his gun to Young Link! Fox is so quick, that he can perform 2 moves at once, like what we just saw!
Jeff: WHOA- Wait a minute!
Ryan: Fox went for the Spinning Heel Kick again, but it looks like Young Link is countering! He caught Fox's foot!
Jeff: WHOA!!! HE THREW FOX OUT!!! IT'S OVER!!! YOUNG LINK WINS!!! (Young Link's music plays)
Dean: Here are your winners: Ice Climber Popo and Young Link!
Young Link: Yes! I did it! I won! I won! I won!
Jeff: How the hell was Young Link able to defeat 2 people at once?! I don't get it!
Ryan: Oh, wait a minute! Here comes the other members of the NWO! Captain Falcon, Samus Aran, Marth, and Roy! They are all attacking Young Link!
Jeff: Captain Falcon finishes him with the Falcon Punch!
Ryan: Uh oh.
Jeff: Marth's got the spraypaint bottle! He's shaking it! Roy rips Young Link's shirt off! Marth is now spraying on Young Link's back! "N.....W.....O"!! Whoo-hoo! I love what the NWO does!
Ryan: Marth sprayed "NWO" on Young Link's back and now the NWO is leaving! As well as Fox & Falco, who are also in the NWO!
Jeff: The NWO is all the realistic Nintendo heroes in one gang!
Ryan: Well up next is the European Championship! Mr. Game & Watch verses Luigi! Next!
(Commercial Break)

SSB MELEE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP- vs
(The camera is backstage. Venusaur is interviewing Falco and Fox after the match.)
Venusaur: Fox and Falco! We just saw you guys out there and you both were thrown out of the ring by Young Link! What are your replies--
Fox: Young Link?! God is he a cheater! GRRR!!!
Falco: Do you know what just happened out there, Venusaur?! We got beaten by a 12-year old!
Fox: But at least we gave him a beating after the match! He got what he deserved! Hey, excuse us. We have to get to our locker room. Captain Falcon and Samus will be defending their Tag Team titles soon, so let's go.
Falco: At least they'll win. (Fox & Falco leave)

Mr. Game & Watch def. Luigi by pinfall to retain his European Championship
(The lights in the arena shut down as the Ghostbusters theme is playing! The crowd is cheering!)
Ryan: Well later today, Falcon & Samus are gonna face the team of Pikachu and Mewtwo. The Tag Team titles will be on the line.
(The lights flash green)
Jeff: And here comes the star of Luigi's Mansion, who will possibly might be in Mario Sunshine, but I doubt it. But he'll be in Mario Party 4!
(Luigi enters with his Poltergust 3000 on his back!)
Dean: The follwing contest is scheduled for 1 fall and is for the SSB Melee European Championship! Introducing the challenger, from Brooklyn, New York, weighing at 150 pounds, LUIGI!
Ryan: Looks like Luigi wants this match to be Hardcore rules! He wants to use his vacume cleaner on Mr. Game & Watch!
Jeff: That would be awesome, but Luigi would be Disqualified. He's putting it at ringside, in case he needs it.
(Mr. Game & Watch's music plays as the crowd is booing! Mr. Game & Watch enters)
Dean: And his opponent from "Inside your Game & Watch system", weighing at about 75 pounds, he is the SSB Melee European Champion, Mr. Game & Watch!
Jeff: Mr. Game & Watch is already a sellout.
Ryan: He turned his back on Luigi and stole the European Championship from him about 2 weeks ago! Luigi got angry and demanded this match so he got what he wanted. Luigi could win it back, who knows?
(The Bell Rings!)
Ryan: Mr. Game & Watch begins with a key to Luigi's chest!
Jeff: That's a hardcore weapon. I guess Luigi can use his vacume cleaner!
Ryan: A lid to Luigi. And a flag from Mr. Game & Watch!
Jeff: Mr. Game & Watch's flag says "1" on it.
Ryan: Parachute to Luigi! (Mr. Game & Watch pins)
Crowd: 1! 2--(Luigi kicks out)
Ryan: An early 2 count for Mr. Game & Watch.
Jeff: Here comes his jumping Fire attack...but Luigi evades!
Ryan: Luigi is now kicking his friend's ass! Karate Kick to Mr. Game & Watch!
Jeff: Man, I got a bloody nose.
Ryan: Whatever. Mr. Game & Watch with a nice Octopus Headbutt. A lid attack again. And--oh! Luigi comes back with another Karate Kick! Luigi just keeps comin back!
Jeff: Now Luigi is hitting his opponent with his ass!
Ryan: Whoa! A strong Octopus Headbutt on Luigi! Luigi had Mr. Game & Watch for a while there. (Mr. Game & Watch pins)
Crowd: 1...2.(Luigi kicks out)
Jeff: YES! Luigi blasts his way out of the pin! OH YEAH!!! LOOK AT LUIGI FLY! A VERY FAST MISSILE IN THE AIR! Whoo-hoo!
Ryan: Luigi landed on the cloud platform! That was a very good evade Luigi did there. G&W working his way over there. But another Karate Kick to him! Nice punch by Luigi. And Luigi jumps off the platform and hits Mr. Game & Watch with a Missile Dropkick! (Luigi pins)
Jeff: Could have a new champion here!
Crowd: 1...2(Mr. Game & Watch kicks out!)
Jeff: Oh but Luigi is picking Mr. Game & Watch up and is hitting him with his ass again!
Ryan: Luigi is back in control! Can he win his European title back? There's another kick! You can now hear Mr. Game & Watch yelling in pain!
Jeff: But he comes back down and hits Luigi with a parachute!
Ryan: This could be the turning point for Luigi. G&W could be in control here.
Jeff: WHOA!
Ryan: G&W went to spear Luigi but Luigi countered! He sent G&W flying!
Jeff: Luigi with a Green Missile to G&W! I told you he's not gonna be in control over Luigi!
Ryan: G&W can't take much more. It looks like we're gonna have a new European Champion! But look at this! He's coming back. A card to Luigi's face! I think. Now a parachute to Luigi!
Jeff: Mr. Game & Watch is pinning Luigi--
Ryan: Wait a minute! G&W's feet are on the ropes! That's cheating!
Crowd: 1! 2! 3!
Jeff: What a cheater!
Ryan: Listen to this crowd! They're booing Mr. Game & Watch!
Dean: Here is your winner and still the SSB Melee European Champion, Mr. Game & Watch!
Ryan: He cheated to retain his gold! Luigi should have won!
Jeff: We saw Marth do that to Yoshi to win the Intercontinental title 2 months ago.
Ryan: Bottom line is that G&W took advantage of Luigi and this war between the 2 of them is just getting started.
(Backstage, Shy Guy is interviewing Ness! The crowd is cheering for Ness!)
Shy Guy: Ness...it is great to see you back in SSB Melee. Last time we heard from you, you announced that you were not going to be here for a while, which was about 2 weeks before Memorial Civil War. Welcome back.
Ness: Who is the current Intercontinental Champion?
Shy Guy: Well everybody knows that Marth is the Intercontinental Champion.
Ness: Marth...
Shy Guy: The guy in the blue suit, also carrys a sword.
Ness: Oh, him! The guy with the blue anime spiked hair? Yeah, I remember him. Hey, Marth! You better start polishing that belt of yours, since it's gonna be mine soon!
(Marth suddenly enters and confronts Ness!)
Marth: What's that, kid? You want my Intercontinental title? Yeah, you're one of those dumbass Americans who don't know how powerful I was in Japan! Thet's why they call me the "Toughest Man In Japan", moron!
Ness: Oh, just a second here! You don't know ME! I'm SSB's Heart Break Kid! And wasn't that your best friend I beat up last Tuesday in my returning debut match? (crowd is cheering!)
Marth: You think you're one tough kid, huh? Alright...you got your match against me...but remember this: After you lose and get beaten up by me, you're gonna find out that you've messed with the wrong guy, kid! (attacks Ness and leaves!)
Ryan: Hey! What a cheap shot to Ness!
Jeff: Marth is so damn ruthless! He is just a punk.
Ryan: Well up next is the Tag Team Championship match! You can see that the Tag Team Champions, Captain Falcon and Samus Aran are on their way! Their opponents are Pikachu and Mewtwo! It's coming up next!
