You've made the decision to put your business on the Internet - Congratulations! The first step to ensure that your presence on the Web is a lasting one is to design a Website that people want to revisit.
To do this, we need to determine your goals; what do you want to achieve and present with your Web site:
1. To provide information?
2. A basic site presenting your company or organization?
3. An e-commerce site to sell your products or services?
4. What categories are needed for your Website: company information, biographies, products, and/or contacts?
5. How many pages should the Website include?
6. Are you planning on expanding your business via your Website?
The design of your Web site can be as simple or complex as your imagination and budget allow. Webcraft will smoothly handle the transition from an idea, to a fully functional Web site. Utilizing written content, photographs of your products, project sheets, online (opt-in only) sign-up email lists, and possible online shopping cart ordering systems, we'll create your ideal Website.
We can include a product demonstration via a gif, movie technology. To complete the process Webcraft can optimize your Website for search engines and indexes, then promote it to the world.
The Process
You will be involved in the design process through each step. If you currently have a Website that needs revising, we'll begin by considering the content on your current site plus any new content or sections. We will then provide you with a mockup of the revised Website in jpeg format for review.
If you don't have a current Website, we'll need you to provide us with pertinent information about your business to get an understanding of your goals and a company or personal look-and-feel. For example this could include a continued color scheme or style from your business cards and letterhead or logo from your association. If you prefer, we can design a completely new look for your business.
Each Web site is created individually to suit the clients needs, is visually attractive, easy to navigate, and also uses low-bandwidth. Bandwidth is still a major factor with people not having broadband.
Standard JavaScript will be added to the design for any required interactivity. This could include image link rollovers, on-submit forms, fly-out menus, and window pop-ups. We can also fully optimize the site for search engines and indexes by inserting all necessary Meta and alt tags, content keywords, and titles.
Once a design is approved, we'll proceed to make real all the graphics, construct the pages, and upload them to a development site for your review and our testing in multiple browsers and platforms (Mac, Windows, and Linux).
You should have your copy (content) prepared before actual development starts. Writing for the Internet is different then writing for print. If you have any questions, we'd be happy to provide some writing guidelines. Web site construction doesn't start until all content has been received. If we’re doing the copywriting and/or editing, you must approve it previous to the site being built.
