CALL FOR A SECOND
As I recorded Alright, OK, the production of each song became progressively more complicated. I began to include, orchestra arrangements and used more and more tracks. Therefore, when it came to suggesting one of my compositions for performing in a small band, my best work musically, could not be recreated live. This time I wanted to make an album of at least the same musical standard as the later tracks on Alright, OK, but with a more live production, and simpler arrangements that could be performed in a five-piece band. Also, Alright, OK was a catalogue of past and present work, written and recorded over four years. I wanted the tracks on Call For A Second to all be fresh, and come together to make a current album. Composing began in September 2000, and recording started in March, and finished in July, 2001.
