    This pizza recipe was developed in a small restaurant located in an American Legion Home.

    The recipe was developed by the Kitchen Manager, Mrs. Dorothy Koch.

  3. When was the recipe developed?

    The recipe was developed in the late 1950's. It was sold in the American Legion restaurant until it closed in about 1971. The American Legion building has been sold to a private owner.

  4. Where was the American Legion located?

    The American Legion was located about 1 mile outside Ringtown, Pennsylvania, USA. Ringtown is a small farming community in Schuylkill County about half way between Scranton, Pa. and Allentown, Pa.

  5. How many pizzas were sold?

    Thousands were sold. Pizza was the main dish sold at the Legion restaurant. Many were sold for takeout. Often there was more demand than could be met by the restaurant staff.

  6. What caused the tremendous demand for the pizza?

    Each pizza was hand made with care. For instance, all flour was double sifted with a hand sifter. Also, the finest cheeses and other ingredients were used.

  7. Is this pizza recipe still sold in any restaurant?

    No, the recipe was retired when the restaurant closed in about 1971.
