france bleu p�rigord - my favorite french radio station on the internet playing a mix of french oldies, french contemporary music, rock, and NO commercials; along with news and listener calls. it's a great way to immmerse yourself in the french language. unfortunately they changed to windows media player and connecting to it has been a real pain.

language translator - translate text like sentences and paragraphs from spanish, portugese, french, german, and italian into english or vice versa. it also translates web pages! you say "au revoir", i say "hello."

word reference - translate words from spanish, french, german, and italian into english or vice versa. a great web dictionary of foreign words and phrases.

life

this american life - without a doubt the best program on the radio bar none. a weekly 1 hour program of great stories, interviews, & anecdotes about life in the united states. the archives are a great way to catch up on past shows.


music

paris combo - this french jazz group is one of the best out there. check out their music because you won't be disappointed.

paris combo video - watch paris combo's video Moi, Mon Ame et Ma Conscience. you'll need a fast connection to view it though, but the music still plays ok.

violink - a great resource for beginning viloinmakers with dozens of useful links. this site seems to be under construction, try again later.

violin-world - learn how to make an instrument from start to finish. an on-online school to make a violin - how cool is that??!

virtual tourist - a great travel site for and built by travellers like you and me.

vulcanism

mt. etna - a webcam aimed at europe's largest active volcano. it is over 10,000 ft high and is located on the island of sicily. i went to this volcano in october 2000, unfortunately it wasn't erupting at the time.��this site has been down for awhile now, try again later.

mt. popocat�petl - a webcam aimed at mexico's active 18,000+ ft volcano. it is located just 45 miles from mexico city.
