Around 4:00 pm that day, I went back and took this sequence of 23 digital photos, seconds apart. The halos started to reappear around the 15th photo and got increasingly larger.
These photos show the progression of the halo as it got larger. They show the 16th photo and four of the last five photos from the sequence of 23 photos that I took around 4:00 p.m. that day.

I took a sequence of 22 photos, seconds apart, around 4:00 p.m. on September 23, 2001, which is exactly two years to the day that the September 23, 1999 halo photos were taken. The halo reappeared in the sixth photo of the sequence, but did not appear clearly in any of the other photos. I then took a sequence of 55 photos at around 4:30 p.m., but the halo did not reappear clearly in any of these photos. |
