.:The Genesis:. It took me quite a while to ponder and wonder how do I go about writing about myself. Do I do the cliche way? You know, the biodata format, or do I just type the facts out. I choose the latter. Born on 24th July 1977, 10:38pm @ Thomson Medical Centre, my late father initially wanted to name me Roy...but I guess for a malay/javanese, that would be too modern or too "unmalay". In the end, he chose to add "Di"to the Roy and hence Roydi. Frankly, it didn't make the name sound Malay..more to tagalog. :) Yes....I've been "misidentified" as a Filipino a few times.. Anyway, why Roy u might ask? I was told during the period when I was born, Roy Marten, the Indonesian actor was popular. He's kinda like the Tom Cruise for Indonesians back then. My elder brother, Rudy was name after a famous Indonesian shuttler, Rudy Hartono. .:The Phamily:. There was 5 of us in the family, but 2 years ago, my father passed away due to Liver Cancer. Now, there's my mother and 2 elder brothers. Both married. House is a three room flat (yes!!! it's under my name!!) in Woodlands. This house is a gift from my mother as she fears that I might be homeless should she pass on. Another gift would be my Nissan Sunny. This gift was from my mother and my brothers. Cool huh?! A house and a car as gifts. Anyway, the car comes by thanks to my father's last wish. Before he passed on, he had wanted me to either get married or own a car. Since I'm quite hopeless when it comes to matters of the heart, he wanted me to at least own a car....like my brothers. He couldn't give me the money while he was still alive...(we are not rich ppl, mind u) when he passed on, my mom decided to get me the car so as to fulfill my father's last wish...and as a good son, I didn't complain at all :) .:Relationship:. What relationship????? .:Work:. I'm known as an IT Trainer or IT Instructor. Been in this job since 2001. I conduct computer workshops and classes for students. I am not a teacher though. Currently, I'm attached at Tampines North Primary School. Been here since 2002. Prior to that, I was in Hua Yi and Clementi Town. Both are Secondary Schools. I'd rather not talk about my work. :) I like my job..I have wonderful colleagues even though sometimes, some of the ppl at work can get on my damn nerves. Through this job, I've made many friends. Some of the secondary school students whom I've taught are now in Poly or doing O levels. I describe them as my kids, but they are friends. Good friends of mine. .:In Short:. To quote myself in my Friendster's About Me column, "Let my testimonials be the judge of that". So, add me in Friendster.. [email protected] :) Cheers!
