It
is really not easy to be on a strict diet like ours - wheat-free,
gluten-free, casein-free, soy-free and egg-free. Mom has to
do lots of research to find out what can be good substitutes.
There are actually lots...more than you can think of...but we
have listed some of the more basic ones here:
|
If
you can't take milk, it isn't the end
of the world. There are actually lots of milk substitutes.
I (Royce) love rice milk very much. Mom used to
make almond base milk to go with my Imagine
rice milk. But now, I only take home-make brown
rice milk with it.

|

|

Brown
Rice Milk

brown rice powder to water and boil.

We
can't take eggs too. We don't really need to eat
egg, except that it is necessary sometimes, especially
when we bake. So we either buy egg replacer from health
food stores or replace it with one of these home-based
easy egg replacers:

egg is equivalent to:

2 tbsp; or
- Flax
seeds powder, 1 tbsp; or

powder, 1/2 teaspoon
|
|
Flour
is also not something that is absolutely necessary
to eat daily, although it is hidden in many food like
bread, cakes, cereals, spaghetti etc. But there are a whole range
of other types of flour besides wheat flour and these can be used
to replace wheat flour:
