Organization
The 2001 Roy Rogers / Frederick U.S.S.S.A. Fall Softball League will have an organizational meeting on Friday, August 3rd, 2001 (Tenative date) at 6:00 pm. at the pavillion near Field #1 at Ballenger Creek Park off Ballenger Creek Pike (Rt. 351) near Frederick, MD. Team managers from the 2000 league will be notified by mail and e-mail. Posters will also be distributed to all adult softball fields in the area, as well as a note in the Sports section of the Frederick News-Post. Entry fee for the Year 2000 season was $325 per team with a $10 player contract fee (per player). Year 2001 entry fee/player contracts have not been set at this time. Rules / Regulations
The league is governed by the current rules of the United States Specialty Sports Association (U.S.S.S.A.). There are also league rules which supersede the national rules. League rules are distributed to each team that is entered in the league.
Fall Season
The season is played over a six-week period with each team playing two doubleheaders a week (24 games). League play is Monday-Thursday with game times being 6:00 pm. and 8:00 pm. An end-of-season double-elimination playoff tournament concludes the season with the crowning of the league champion. The 2000 League Championship went to R & R Trim managed by Rich Mills and Carlos Breckenridge. They defeated Joe Corbi's Storm, managed by Jim Kelly, 21-8 to win the title. Most Valuable Player for the championship game was Kevin Breckenridge of R & R Trim. Third place went to C & J Construction. All games are played at Ballenger Creek Park located off Ballenger Creek Pike (MD Rt. 351) outside of Frederick, MD. The Year 2001 season begins on Monday, August 27th with the end-of-season double elimination playoffs scheduled for Saturday, October 6th and Sunday, October 7th, 2001.
