Opens with no one onstage. Celler door is open. Martha enters as in script, moves to table and sits Abby enters as in script, crosses to window to look out, crosses to sideboard to pour tea for herself and Martha, sits next to Martha. Mortimer enters as in script, speaks from doorway...some flexability Mortimer exits to stairs after "I'll be back down in a minute." Abby stands on "Come Martha" , takes cups to sideboard on her way around front of table. Martha stands and meets her to stage left of table Mortimer enters after Abby's line. They meet behind the living room chair. Abby moves Matha toward the door on "Well come along" Mortimer jumps in front of her to stop her, ushers his aunts back to the table on "I've got to see Teddy", seats them, goes to sideboard to get their teacups, brings the teacups to the aunts, exits as in script. Jonathan enters after "unnecesary trouble", he stands between table and living room, crosses to living room chair and sits after "pleasent night's sleep" Martha stands and heads toward stairs on "yes, come Abby" , says "and he has a way of doing it too" from stairway, exits on "goodbye" Abby stands and crosses to stairs when she says "goodbye", exits after "oh, you'll see Mortimer." Einstein enter as in script, crosses to stairs on "that bed feels good already", comes down to sit on couch on "Chonny please" Jonathan stands and walks slowly toward Einstein on "get your instruments", exits to celler as in script Einstein lays on floor in front of couch at bugle, Mortimer enters Einstein stands at Teddy's exit, crosses behind chair to the table as Mortimer pours his drink, follows Mortimer when he crosses in front of him on his way to the chair, continues to the couch. Mortimer goes to sideboard, gets drink, sits in living room chair by "things are going to start popping around here", stands on "take that little opus i saw tonight", takes glass to the sideboard and sits it down, paces about in his rant. Jonathan enters at "for instance, the murderer invites him to sit down" Einstein sees Jonathan appear and pulls out kitchen chair at "won't you sit down" Mortimer sits, Einstein moves to where Mortimer won't see Jonathan when necisary. Follow stage direction in script on page 75 from "the curtain cord" to the top of page 76. Einstein clears the table and sets out the tools, and Jonathan stays next to Mortimer during the exchange. Einstein crosses to the sideboard on "vere did she put that?", he picks up poisened wine (blue container) and brings it to the table with glass on "look chonny, we got a drink", he pours it in one glass, then "i split it with you", he goes to get another glass, pours half into it, hands one glass to Jonathan, goes back and picks up his own glass, Jonathan enterupts. Follow stage directions in script for the bugle call - page 77 Jonathan starts to pull curtain cord tight as O'Hara enters, Jonathan and Einstein jump in front of Mortimer. O'Hara comes up between chair and couch on entrence, glimpses Mortimer when Einstein gestures on "where are the lights", crosses to Mortimer Jonathan and Einstein inch toward the door, they stop when addressed (they should be behind the living room chair.)
