Roxedge
Bullmastiffs
was
founded
in 1997
by
Cheryl
&
Darryl
Randolph,
of Sooke,
British
Columbia,
Canada.
Our love
of
Bullmastiffs
began
with the
purchase
of
"Hanna"
from
Karisoke
Bullmastiffs.
Initially
we had
only
purchased
Hanna
with the
intentions
of
having
her for
a pet
only.
However
Hanna
proved
to be
just a
little
more.
As she
grew,
she
developed
into a
lovely
show
prospect,
and with
encouragement
and
support
from her
breeder,
Hanna
was
shown to
her
Canadian
championship
in short
order.
Since
then the
bug has
bitten
once
again,
and our
home of
bullmastiffs
has
grown,
with 3
adult
bully's
sharing
our
abode,
along
with our
2
children,
Danny
&
Lindsay.
Our
involvement
in
bullmastiffs
is
centered
around a
loving
family
environment....where
the dogs
are
fully
integrated
as
rightful
members
of our
household.
Our
background
and love
for
dogs,
however,
did not
start
with
bullmastiffs.
We have
been
involved
in GSD's
&
Rottweilers
over the
past 22
years,
venturing
into
many
aspects
of
dogdom,
such as
importing
from
overseas
to
impact
and
expand
certain
lines,
breeding,
training,
schutzhund,
obedience,
agility
and of
course,
rescue.
As such,
we have
earned a
respected
position
in the
dog
community,
and
although
we are
no
longer
directly
involved
with
these
particular
breeds,
we
always
make
ourselves
available
to share
our
knowledge
to those
fanciers
who seek
it.
Cheryl
has also
been
heavily
involved
in the
horse
world,
with
training
and
teaching
of
hunters
and
jumpers,
and
partaking
in
judging
now.
So as
you can
see....our
background
with
animals
is vast
and
varied.
Over the
years,
as with
most
people,
we have
had our
fair
shares
of
bumps,
bruises,
successes
and ever
sweet
moments
that
have
helped
us to
grow
along
the way.
As such,
we have
created
memories
for our
family
to be
cherished
and
remembered
for a
lifetime.
Cheryl
is a
member
of the
Bullmastiff
Fanciers
of
Canada,
Canadian
Kennel
Club,
SABOC
Obedience
club and
currently
holding
a
position
of
Bullmastiff
Rescue
Of
Canada ~
Rescue
Coordinator
for
Vancouver
Island.
Attending
countless
dog
shows a
year,
whether
it be
for
showing
or
simply
for the
leisure
of
observing
and
mingling
with
fellow
dog
fanciers,
and
taking
in a
variety
of
classes
such as
Obedience
&
Agility.....you
will
often
times
(if not
most
times)
see her
young
daughter,
Lindsey
by her
side,
learning
the
ropes
and
following
ever so
diligently
in her
mothers
footsteps.
Lindsey's
love of
animals
is
abundantly
apparent,
as she
is drawn
to
animals
~all
species~
like
glue.

Her
latest
venture
in
dogdom
was the
purchase
of her
ever-sweet
&
devilish
"Raven",
a
Schipperke.
Together
with her
beloved
dog,
they are
working
towards
their
Canadian
Championship
in
style.
Not to
be left
out.....Cheryl's
husband
Darryl
and her
son
Danny,
support
Cheryl
&
Lindsey's
endeavors,
hold the
forte on
the home
front
making
sure
everything
is in
order
when
Cheryl
and
Lindsey
return,
and
being
there
always
for
support
and
encouragement.
Our
goals at
RoxEdge
is to
breed
sound,
healthy,
TYPEY
bullmastiffs,
bred
well
within
the
written
standard,
and who
are
functional
bullmastiffs
in every
aspect
of the
breed.
We use
OFA
&
PennHIP
methods
of
hip/elbow
screening,
we test
thyroid
function
and
heart
function,
and our
dogs are
pre-breeding
screened
well
before
we
consider
breeding
them.
Of
course...one
of the
most
important
factors
in our
program
is
breeding
in
sound,
happy
temperaments
that are
adaptable
for
any
endeavor
one
chooses
to delve.
We
partake
regularly
in
conformation
shows,
having
attained
Championship
titles
on all
our
bully's
that are
of
age....with
several
sitting
in the
ranks
fast
approaching
their
days of
glory.
We also
are very
involved
in
obedience
and
agility.
At
present
we are
working
our male
"Chevy"
in
obedience,
hoping
to
attain
that
ever
elusive
C.D.
title.
Our up
and
coming
agility
dog at
this
time is
Hanna,
who
lives
for this
sport
and many
times
out does
the
shoe-in
breeds
in her
trial
runs.
Our goal
at
RoxEdge
is NOT
in the
quantity
of dogs
we can
put on
the
ground
....but
rather
to breed
selectively
and only
when
necessary
to
enhance
our
breeding
program.
We are
not
concerned
with how
many
champions
we can
attain
in a
litter,
so much
as we
are
concerned
with
providing
extraordinary,
loving
"FOREVER"
homes
for the
dogs
that we
do
produce.
Yes,
that
means
that
sometimes
even our
show
quality
puppies
go to
pet
homes,
after we
have
kept the
best for
ourselves.
If your
are
seriously
interested
in the
Bullmastiff,
and are
considering
acquiring
one to
integrate
into
your
family,
we
seriously
urge you
to
research
the
breed
thoroughly
before
you make
the
decision.
Bullmastiffs
are not
necessarily
the
breed
for
everyone....no
matter
how
tempting
and
appealing
their
look
is.
They are
a guard
dog, and
as such
one
should
never
forget
that
fact.
They are
also not
a
disposable
investment.....a
dog is
for a
lifetime.....and
for
bullmastiffs
that
could
mean
anywhere
from
8-12years!
There
are many
extensive
books on
the
bullmastiff
available
via the
internet.
We have
provided
for you,
many
useful
links on
our
links
page,
with
which
will
enable
you to
order
these
books,
as well
as to
surf and
research
the
breed
before
you make
any
decisions.
Just as
importantly,
we urge
you to
meet and
talk
with as
many
breeders
as you
can, and
make
sure
that you
find a
breeder
who
works
for YOU,
whose
first
intention
is for
the
welfare
of the
breed,
and who
holds
high
ethics
and
breeding
practices.
Please
do not
rush
into
this
decision,
but meet
it fully
informed
and
prepared,
and be
prepared
to ask
these
breeders
as many
questions
as they
will
most
certainly
ask you.
In the
meantime,
we
invite
you to
browse
our
website
at your
leisure,
meet our
dogs,
and
enjoy
our
photos
and
information
that we
provide
in it.
If you
have any
further
question,
please
feel
free to
contact
us at
any
time,
and ask
away!
