Brunel University Rowing Club

Rowing/Training

The Rowing Club meets every Wednesday and Saturday to go training at Runnymede. Training usually involves rowing in crews of four; either coxed or coxless, or in pairs in a double scull. We have a gym at the back of the boathouse enabling us to train on and off the water. We keep various different boats at the boathouse and this allows everyone to get out on the river and means that you can try both rowing and sculling. We also put together both single sex and mixed crews.

We are coached by an Olympic rower, Steven Lee, every Wednesday. Steve is an extremely experienced rower and a good coach, whether you are a beginner or an experienced rower he can always give you advice on improving your rowing skills. Steve and Louise run regular induction courses on and off the river, so it's possible to join at any time of year!

If all this sounds like a bit too much hard work, Don't Fear!, training is usually ended in the café over the road or in the pub! We meet every Wednesday at 1pm and every Saturday at 9am at the pond infront of the Wilfred Brown building, Uxbridge Campus and transport is provided.

Come down and see what you think of rowing on a beautiful stretch of the River Thames away from the concrete jungle of the Uxbridge Campus.
