| HOCKEY is where ex-rugby players go when they die. It's like an athletic retirement community. Once you've broken too many bones (yourself and to others), padding becomes attractive. I needed something fast, aggressive, and uncorked. Like the cellphone porting wave, I switched my services from rugby to hockey. The deal was pretty good. Unlimited hits and falls, padding provided, and 1,000 player-to-player minutes. Can you hear me now? |

| I've explained some terms below: "Slapshot" - hitting the puck as hard as you can, usually crawls forward at 1 mph. Only small girls can successfully do a slapshot at Mach 3. "Wristshot" - Urban legend. Virtually impossible. Requires 7 years training in Tibet under mountain guru. And 47 days of fasting. "Icing" - Break time. Except for the poor bastard who has to chase it down. |
