Day 10

Previous Day Calendar Next Day

Albuquerque, NM to Holbrook, AZ

What a cool day we've had!

We started by spending some time in Albuquerque's Old Town after breakfast. We then headed out late morning.

A lot of the trip there was only scenery to look at. Some points we really felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere.

We then crossed over into Arizona. Once in Arizona, we were mostly on the interstate because too much of Route 66 was not passable.

We made it to the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest.
Wow. It was so cool!

We spent two hours going through. It was neat because we paid $10 to drive through the 26 miles. We stopped at look-out points and took lots of pictures. The petrified wood was really pretty.

After we went through the park we went to our motel--
The Wigwam Motel. It is really cool. We have our own little wigwam. I've really wanted to stay here! This is another really neatly decorated room!
