 | We covered lots of miles today. However, we didnt see a lot before lunchtime. We
traveled from Lebanon to Springfield. We found some abandoned buildings, but that was it
until Springfield. In Springfield we found an old Stake-n-Shake, the Melinda
Court Motel, and the Wishing Well Motel. |

 | Outside of Springfield, we found a neat area of Route 66-an old truss
bridge and the remains of a town called Spence.

 | We traveled a long stretch of road where 66 was near, but this stretch of road was flat.
It had a country road feel, but a speed limit of 65! After that, we went into Carthage. We visited the downtown area and headed back out. |

 | We drove through Kansas today too.
We got lots of pictures.
Stopped at Eisler Bros. for souvenirs,
then we were on to Oklahoma.

 | We were able to locate 2 sections of Route 66 that were only
8-foot wide. These are very rare sections and without detailed map we never would
have found them! |
