FACTS - about  rough sleepers
Homeless people have been around since time begun.
Most of You probably remember Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, well things aren't that much different today, just a bit more civilized.
At last count there was about 460 homeless in Westminster alone, we can only imagine what the count would be for the whole of London, let alone the whole of UK.
As this website demonstrates there are a few places where roughsleepers can find food and shelter, but there isn't enough. This causes a lot of  tension within the homeless community,as most roughsleepers have to fight for their spaces in the food and shelter queues.
There are a variety of people living on the street, from youngsters on the run from home to ex prisoners and ex servicemen to doctors and solicitors.
Virtually every race and religion is represented.
The Homeless Facts in the Observer Click HERE to read or click on the YOLLOW textlinks where they appear.
Some rougsleeperslive of State Benefits, others have adopted a different approach and beg to get by , then there are some that live of what ever they can find.
We are all different yet still the same, HOMELESS.

Why do people become homeless?
There are  people living on the streets for a variety of reasons.
Some have become homeless due to financial hardship, some come from broken homes or broken relationships, some have suffered abuse others are suffering from some kind of an addiction.
There are almost as many reasons for people being homeless as there are homeless people.
We all have our reasons for being here, we all have a story to tell , but there is one thing we all share the same, FEAR.
Fear of being left on these streets to rot and the fear of being forgotten.
